try plugging it into some other USB port and even try uploading the drivers of the USB!! or best is try using some other USB to test it!!

Your USB cable is fine, I use a generic cable with my A590 with no problems. Connect the USB cable to the camera then your computer, make sure that the camera is set to the view setting instead of picture taking setting and then turn your camera an. Your computer should then see the camera. This is the only combination that works with my camera.
I can'tg upload pictures. I have a polarioid t11031 digital camera, and I have a USB cord ffor it, but my computer does not recognize it when I plug it in. I want to know how I can get the pitctures off my camera and onto my computer.
Buy a card reader and stop using a USB cable. Card readers are much faster than USB downloads and work as a hard drive. Cameras do not need software to download onto a computer.
i try to upload photos from my nikon coolpix p50 to 'my pictures' by using my usb cord. it always used to work but not now. something pops up that says "please make sure the device is turned on and properly connected to the computer." i used the the same usb cord as before when it worked.
USB can be funny some times- it has worked so you know what to do OK?
Check-the USB setting- Start/ControlPanel/System hardware/device manager
Rund down to the USB setting and open it check for any yellow makers intcatiing afault - seek help from there.
If you are using a hub or have multiple other devices connected.- disconnec them and use the USB cord direct to computer.
Have you remembered to switch the camera on- it has good batteries- set to upload Huh!
So much to remember easy to forget something
If the trouble wont go away- go buy a card reader and leave that lugged in to usb.
