Sony KV-28HX15U Yesterday my Sony KV-28HX15U screen just went off. There is still power because the stand by light stil goes on. it starts green flashes red 11 times, pauses, flashes red 11 times, pauses conitinually. Can any body help regarding this fault? thanks in advance!

upon hitting the power button, the red light showing on the front of the tv should flash a couple of times, the screen should come on and the light goes off..the red "stand by " light stays on and we cannot get the screen to come up..needless to say, cannot get to the menu to change any display options...any suggestions?

this problem is in the power supply.the red lights indicate as the standby mode.

For the last week my TV has been going to a black screen for 10 seconds or so then the picture returns. It has been continual. Last night it stopped going to black screen, but now the standby light flashes 5 consecutive times and the color went haywire. A lot of red and everything that is suppose to be black is green.

I did a soft and hard reset with no success. What's wrong and is it worth fixing? Bought new in November 2002.

Most of the time this is from a high voltage, scan, or power supply failure.

You will have to take the set in for a service tech to give you an estimate.

I get a black screen after power on...then a bright white light in the middle of the screen.Then the red light flashing and turns it self off.

The Sony error codes go up to 7, so when the standby light flashes 11 times it usually means that one of the clock or data lines deep inside the set is shorted to ground. This is not fixable from the front or through the remote, so the set should be serviced by a qualified tech familiar with Sony sets.
