How to connect my jvc mini dv camcorder to my computer without the disc
I recently bought a jvc camcorder and i lost the disc to it and now i cant connect it to my computer. I tried to connect it to my computer using add new hardware in control panel but its not on the list so i cant connect it. Can someone provide some help?

recently bought a used jvc camcorder gr-d290 but even when l pu tthe battery on charge for hours it goes flat in less than twenty minutes . what can be the problem?
try using windows movie maker which is free and is in your menus under xp or vista-make sure you are using firewire only to download video-not usb-need lots of ram to work w/video!
you have not mentioned which model JVC camera you have bought, any ways, if it has with both memory card and minidv cassette facility, then you require a fire wire card to transfer cassette contents, and for stills on card insert the card to the slot and then connect it to the computer through USB cable, then the computer will recognise your camera.
