Invalid format means that the PC resolution is too high for the TV to display, you need to set the PC video card resolution to the native resolution of this TV.

My IMac g4 has a not enter sign logo with flashing folder , after I installed a new 250GB hard drive that has OS X 10.5. I even updated my RAM up to 1000 GB. When I re-installed the old drive it work, but...

The folder and do not enter sign means that the drive is not compatible. I'm going to guess that the drive came out of an intel Mac that had leopard loaded on it. This is not going to work with a PowerPC Mac. Do a clean install of leopard and you should be fine. I believe g4's go up to 10.5 and g5's go up to 10.5.8.

Hi we have a Goodmans TV and have been trying to get downloaded movies to play from a hard drive. Keeps coming up invalid file. Person at shop said to make compatible with TV but unsure how to

You must have the "File" to "Play" in the "Format" the TV requires to "See" You need to find out what "Format" your TV "Uses" and ensure you either the download is the right format, or convert the Videos into that format wanted. Also make sure all CODEC's are installed as well, if required.

Sony Vaio PCV-RS720G not recognizing new Seagate Hard Drive. When I first installed the drive with XP OS running, the pc recognized and formated the drive. Since then the original drive that I was going to...

This should be a quick fix. How old is the machine you are trying to update? Do you know if the jumpers on the drive are in order? Is it a SATA or ATA drive? Did a CD or Disk come with your drive? Check jumpers on your old drive and make sure the jumpers on the new drive are similar ( master, slave, cs ). Usually leaving on Master is best. Is anything else on this line, like a CD or DVD? I think you'll get it from here.

I receive this message when I'm booting my CISNET computer. NTLDR is compressed Press ctrl+alt+del to restart But when I do so, it comes back to the same page. Somebody please, help me!!!!!

Your system is probably trying to boot from a USB drive. ZT systems for some reason will put USB hard drives ahead of drive 0 in the boot sequence. You can correct this in the BIOS.
Another problem I had with mine is that the BIOS would not pick up the USB drives on a cold boot even though everything went fine with a restart. Cycling the power on the external after boot up solves this problem.

Install os,cd drive not working

You can hook two computers together using a crossover cable. They may have them at radio shack, if not you can find one on the web for cheap. Then you can put the install in one cd and have it install in the other computer.

I have an lg 50pt8 plasma tv with hdd. the hard drive wont work, it just says ( hdd initialisation in progess please try again later!) any help would be great. thank you.

Check your owners manual and see if there is a way to format the hard drive. If so, format it and try it again.

If not, or if you can't get past the hdd error, check your owners manual and see what type of hard drive it takes. Go to your local computer store, buy one and install it in your TV. This SHOULD stop the error message, and allow you to format the new drive using your TV's menu structure. Again, check the owners manual for formatting instructions.

If you are an experimental type of person, you can install the tv hard drive in an external hard drive case, plug it into your computer and try to get it running.

Finally, if it turns out to be some kind of proprietary hard drive you may have to check with LG to purchase a replacement.

Not indicating hard drive

Usually a hard drive needs to be recognized by the bios (small programe chip on the motherboard) check to see if the hard drive is listed there (if not try a seek by settings to auto ) if the harddrive is recognized but not partitionned or formatted it depends on the operations system you want to install

it is also so that for installing the OS on to the harddrive you temporairilly have to change to boot settings and usually the OS dics has to be bootable .
