SOURCE: Remote can't connect to Software on Vista

Try a different cable, any standard mini usb cable will work. When it asks to press a button on the remote unplug the remote and plug it back in and it should pick it up right away.

I have had similar quirks with harmony remotes be never had one I couldn't connect too.

Failing that harmony has an excellent tech support service, it could be a remote problem.

Cheers

SOURCE: 520 remote is locked in safe mode...tried

Hi There,

One solution I have found online for getting the 520 out of safe mode is to follow these steps:

1. Remove the batteries.
2. Hold the '2' button down on the remote.
3. Whilst still holding the '2' button down, replace the batteries.
4. The remote should now boot in normal mode.

Please note, If the 'off' button is held down whilst inserting the batteries the remote starts up into safe mode.

Hope this helps,

James

SOURCE: Safe mode!

I can help you with your Harmony One Remote Control.

Replacing the firmware in your Harmony One is the way to get it out of Safe Mode.

To help you make sure the firmware update is successful:

  1. May I suggest you make sure you are running the latest Harmony Setup Software (V 7.7.0).
  2. Replace your remote's batteries with fresh ones. It is important the remote has sufficient, unvarying power when updating firmware.
I hope that helps.

Do a firmware update again in safemode. Press and hold the "off" button, and then plug it into the computer, and continue with the firmware update. If this doesn't work, I'd call technical support.

No idea how to setup

You need a computer with Internet and a USB cable. Download and install the software from Logitech's website, plug in the remote so the software recognizes it and from there it is about as simple as it could be.
