Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/CONFIG/SYSTEM
You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM
Select “r” at the first screen to repair

So then i click r at the first screen and nothing happens...It keeps on repeating to repair on and on with the same message after i clicked r. I can't even access to the window...what can i do???

ASUS EeePc 1015PEM reboots at windows startup. even with new hdd and fresh install. ok when in bios screen or if i boot into linyx

Which windows OS are you using? windows xp, 7 or 8?
Anyway the problem might be corrupted installation CD. If you install windows on other computer using this CD, so if CD is OK, then
start your laptop and press F8 repeatedly until Windows Advanced Boot Options appears. Then choose automatic restart on system failure. This option will allow you to see Blue Screen Of Death and to understand what causes a problem.

Asus eee pc 900 netbook will not boot. Error message says remove disks or other media press any key to restart

Hi guys, i hope this could bring little light to this boot-stop error. First of all sorry for my english /slovakia/. So thi applies for asus eeepc 1005HA /maybe some other models too - depending on motherboard construction. In my case it was 2 parts motherboard which were conected via flex cable. Both parts contrains USB ports which is the think what stops you access to BIOS and all functions. If you hit TAB button during start up /best way to do so before pressing powerbutton/ you will see post messages, which stops on inicializing USB controlers. So what you need to do is
1. turn on computer
2.unplug flex cable which leds to usb ports
3. now you should see progress on your screen, so go to BIOS /F2/
4. visit ADVANCE tab
5. visit ide onboard configuration
6. check for usb controler configuration
7. mark it as DISABLED
8. hit F10 to save your settings
9.reboot

after this hint you will have full access to all functions like before, USB ports included.

hope this little research hlep u too, my eee1005HA is now glowing

Lost log-in password

what is password? for windows? for BIOS? for what?....
you use eeePC with Linux OS or Microsoft Windows OS? For Linux, follow my instruction for recovery your OS. Press F9, after you turn ON your netbook. And follow that instruction. Or you can use recovery DVD (include your netbook), after you plug in external DVD-ROM and make it boot priority for first is DVD-ROM (enter your BIOS first).

I have an asus eeepc 900. i have an error message

hi charmed4031this netbook comes with an internal harddisk on which windows is installed but lacks any optical drives so far.
You will have to get an external CD/DVD-drive plus a Windows-CD for it from which you safely can reinstall windows or replace the missing file. Please find out which windows version you are using(Win200, Win XP Home for e.g.,), lend or buy this external drive, connect devices and let the computer work it's magic, if still facing diffifculties, you know where to find us ;-)

Asus eee pc 900 /windows/system32/config/system

2 problems, your using a netbook that doesnt have an optical drive (cd/dvd) and you need a windows cd.
I dont think there is anything you can do until you call your retailer and request a copy of windows cd.
After that you can do a windows repair. Use the link below to see you options for accessing the cd once you have it.

Asus eeepc 900 will not reboot even with, even with the recovery dvd.

Does your BIOS allow you to boot from DVD? If not change your boot order so that the system boots from DVD first.

ASUS eeePC 900 Keeps rebooting at XP load screen.

You're computer is booting that's not your problem. Its just not booting into Windows which is a different subject, so a boot disk will not do you any good. You have some corrupted files at the Windows end not the start up end. The only way to correct the Windows corrupt files is to use a Windows disc. So you'll have to buy/borrow a portable DVD/CD player and a copy of windows. Once the Windows disc loads then its just a matter of clicking on "repair" when the disc asks..that one of the drawbacks of netbooks..If you have any questions let me know..

I have an asus eeepc and the windows startup window keeps going over and over without going to the desk top

boot loops usually indicate 1 of 2 thinks
- a corrupt or damage operation system
or
-a bad hard drive

unfortunately, i know these netbooks don't have a disc drive, but if you have access to an external one, see if you can get your hands on a hardware testing program like drive fitness test. if that passes, you know your operating system needs to be reinstalled.
