Casio EXILIM camara lens will not fully extend. When power is turned on, a clicking noise is heard. The LCD displays what will be captured, but is is very blurry. Then the lens closes and a "lens error" message appears on the LCD. Sometimes it says "retry power on.
Thanks,

The lens won't close when turned off and camera doesn't zoom all the way. When it does zoom, it goes about two inches then the camera turns off on its own saying it's a lens error. When it goes off, the camera will not close the lens.

SOURCE: Casio EXILIM camera lens will not extend fully!!!

It's the focus lens gears. The often times get knocked out of alignment by an impact, or debris gets in there. This can be fixed, but Casio won't help. Hint...google my username. ;)

Try plugging the PC interface cord into the external connector. No need to hook it up to your computer, just plug it in and out a few times. Then try to power up the camera.
Good luck.

Beeps 3 times

Is it an actual beep, or is it a beeping noise coming from the lens? Does the lens extend? I ask this because this is the noise the lens focus gears make when they are knocked out of alignment, or debris gets in them and jams them.

Lens error

This is the lens focus gears. They are either knocked out of alignment, or debris has jammed them. The good news is it can be fixed....Casio most likely won't help. Hint...google my user name.

Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60... Problem

The power leads that are soldered from the main circuit board to the LCD are near the lens assembly ( about 7 o'clock). Did you break one of these? If so, it will need to be resoldered.

Zoom shutter wont extend fully

the same thing happened to me. I took my camera apart - just removing the case. I then operated my camera and it became "unstuck". now it works just fine. I put the case back on and all is just as before.
