HI I HAVE SONY MHC-RV900D WHEN I SWITCH IT ON IT SHOWS PROTECT PUSH POWER. HOW CAN I PLAY MY SYSTEM AGAIN.??

My Sony MHC RV900D plays video uninterrupted but the sound on a DVD or CD starts then plays for a minute or so then no sound for anything from 5mins to a few hours, then sound returns and so forth. ANy ideas please?

Do Following...

  • Turn off the System-Turn it off for a while
  • Then turn it back on.
  • Still Problem, Turn Off system and Check the Speaker Code
  • RESET the system .
  • Remove all the connections, leave it for 24hours and then connect it up again
To Reset
  • Unplug Power Code
  • Plug it back again
  • Press Stop , Enter and Power button at Same time
  • Press Power Button to Turn on it

Still have Problem The protective device on the amplifier has been activated because of short circuit. (“PROTECT” and “PUSH POWER” flash alternately.) Turn off the unit, eliminate the short-circuit problem and turn on the power again.

This is what the manual says:

PROTECT"and "PUSH POWER" appear
alternately.
•A strong signal was input.
Press ?/1 to
turn off the power, leave the system
turned off for a while, then press ?/1
again to turn on the power.

•Check the speaker cables in case
"PROTECT" and "PUSH POWER"
appear alternately again after you turn
the system on.

There is most likely a short in the amplifier that will need to be repaired before the unit will power on normally.

Sony mhc-rv900d has no sound although the equiliser shows sound being produced, have done a cold start but still no sound produced
Check the speaker wires for shorts, If okay! the audio output chips should suspect.
