Question edited a bit to help you. Change 'but' to 'BTU. Then we have a problem, There is a Dometic Turbo 12,000 and also a 'TURBRO 12,000', and lots of AC / Heat Pumps with 'turbo functions'. All question need FULL 'make model (what it is)' and a clear question. Is the AC Heat function not working or is the AC supposed to be cold but blowing hot?
F8 is a sensor issue in nearly all makes. Try fully disconnecting power for 2 hours. Reconnect and wait 10 minutes before turning back on. That is a mainboard reset.
Not every 3-ton unit weighs exactly the same - they differ in weight depending on how they were manufactured. Most 3-ton units weigh around 150 pounds (I would guess) give or take a few pounds.
The "3-ton" refers to the "cooling capacity" of the air conditioner.
It's actually 'slang' for 36,000 Btu.
Note; 12,000 btu equals 1 ton.
Hence a 24,000 Btu unit would be called a "2-ton unit," and a 12,000 Btu unit would be called a 1 ton unit.
Hi, to find out the tonnage of your unit in b. t. u.'s, look at the 08 in your model number. There are 12,000 btu's per ton of cooling. You have a window /wall unit, and according to the model # 08 is not a 1/2 ton or a 1 ton, but a 3/4 ton unit or 8,000 btu's if indeed this is the correct model number. Most units we come across are in btus as 06 which is 1/2 ton, 12,000 is 1 ton, 018 is 1 1/2 ton and on up with a properly matched indoor coil. Your unit is a package window unit, so both coils are equal. Sincerely, Shastalaker7 A/C, & Heating Contractor
The 18,000 btu A/C is 230 volts, are you sure the 12,000 btu unit is 230 volts most are 120 volts.
Usually 12,000 btu is the biggest 120 volt A/C you can buy.
I have a Frigidaire model FAK104R1V window air conditioner that did the same AS error code. The problem is going to be one of the 2 temperature sensors in the unit. Mine happened to be the ambient temperature sensor located at the front of the unit. They are fairly easy to replace and you can buy a new sensor for about $15 online.
