Take it back apart and make sure the connectors to the lcd are properly seated and locked down tightly. This is usually the cause of the white screens.

u have to change ur cell display coz it got brke n it will not work without replacing....when ur cell fall down that coz break ,so u have to change ur display....thnx
Sounds like your LCD is bleeding. Your Nokia is not exactly made to with-stand military inspections, but in your case I think your device needs to be replaced. Any pressure caused to the LCD can ruin it completely. Sorry, hope this information helps.
Actually, it sounds like your son may have damaged the ribbon cable that connects to the flip piece of your phone. Its a longshot, but its happened to me (daughter)
use the nokia pc suite 7 for windows and connect phone to computer and browse files of your phone in the same way you browse for files on your comp. you will be able to retrieve the information from your phone. after doing so you may want to try to reset to factory settings.

Recently I broke the LCD display on my Nokia 6300. I couldn't find any info on disassembling it online so I decided to write my own guide. If anyone else wants it here is the PDF (with pictures). It is very simple to do and much cheaper than sending it away to be repaired.
