I have a Goldstar DH 304 dehumidifier. I started it and it ran, now it doesn't do anything. The filter is clean, the coils are clean, the bucket is in the proper place, and I have a hose connected to the back for it to drain. Do you have any ideas why it will not run anymore? THANK YOU!

My dehumidifier runs but no water will collect in the bucket. I ahve tried increasing the percentage. My basement is plenty damp!! Model504EL

Mine had the same problem: ran, sounded great, no water. Feel the coils. Mine never cooled down - stayed at room temp. No refridgerant left in the coils. It's a gas and can leak out. Expensive to recharge. Get a new one.

Is Part # 3850A20500F one of this model? my unit

I found the model # on my Goldstar DH304 at the top of a sticker on the inside of the unit behind the bucket. Mine has stopped working too. I'm awaiting an answer to my problem but after some research it seems that unless the filter and/or coils simply need cleaned, there is lttle that can be economically repaired. Good luck.

I would like to SEE a picture of how to hook up a hose from the DH to a drain.( no manual & cant find one for this DH 304) TO lift the bucket off & drain has become to heavy for me. Thanks,...

My DH 304 is a hand-me-down so I don't have a manual but it did come with a hose attachment which is plastic tube with a threaded end to which you attach a hose. The other end of the tube goes through a hole in the back of the unit and then through a foam screen inside the unit to slip over the drain plug. Aligning the tube and the drain plug can be tricky; it is helpful to remove the bucket to see if you're getting the tube onto the drain plug. Once you have the tube attached to the drain plug, align the tube in the hole in the rear of the unit so that the tab on the tube is inserted into the slot at the hole in the back of the unit.

Won't come on

Definitely check the air filter, it has a sensor and will stop working if it's dirty. Easy to clean by running water through it.

Suddenly stopped working

remove bucket, look under for the bucket overflow switch, try tugging it a bit, may have gotten stuck when you pulled out the bucket

DH runs but does not condense any water out of the air (bucket is dry). This unit was working well until a week or so ago when we had a lot of T-storms and humidity rose considerably. We went from having...

there are coils in the unit that the water folws across, you can take the filter out and clean the coils, this would help, but even though it is only 1 year old it can go bad,, if it is clean inside and everything is appering to be working it might have just gone bad and n eed a new one

LG dehumidifier developing ice

First you would need to clean the filter. LG recommends cleaning the filter every 2 weeks on their dehumidifiers. The second thing you need to do is clean the coils periodically. On this dehumidifier it should include a brush for cleaning the coils. It is located on the top of the bucket. To access the coils the following needs to be done:

1.) Unplug the unit from power
2.) Remove the bucket and also the air filter
3.) Remove the front pannel by removing the 2 lower screws and depressing the tabs.
4.) Once the panel is removed you will see the coils. You need to clean them with the brush. Go in an up and down motion to remove the dirt and dust.

Now use the reverse steps to put it back together. If your dehumidifier runs often I recommend you clean the coils about every 3 to 4 months. This is a common problem on alot of dehumidifiers and people think their dehumidifier is broken. Most of the time the coils are just dirty which causes the water to stay between them and freeze. Keep me posted. Also if you found this response helpful, please rate this solution when you get a chance. Thanks - Tech101
