The projector lamp comes on (amber color) no image

I have a dell 2300mp projector that does not work. I turn it on and the power button lights up green (flashing off and on). None of the other buttons light up. I press the power button again and then the power button remains on and it is a solid green for about a minute and then the lamp light comes on (amber/red color). I do not hear the fan on (Is the fan suppose to come on immediately after I press the power button?). I read another solution that explained that opening up the projector and vacumming it would make it work. I opened it up but there was not a drop of dust anywhere in the projector! :(. So is there anything else I can do to fix this projector? Please HELP! :). I switched the lamp with one that works but still the lamp light came on. Does this projector have a bad fuse or something? or can it be the fan is bad and that is why the lamp won't come on? I appreciate your help on this and look forward to hearing from you or anyone else who may be able assist me on this. I am new to posting comments like this so I do not even know where to look for your response to my question. I know, pretty lame, but it's the truth so by chance I cannot locate your response to my question please e-mail me with your response, if you can, to [email protected]. Thank you very much.

i bought the beamer without lamp, the old lamp has been removed because it "exploded". thats what the seller told me.

so i bought a new lamp, but the beamer does not work.

i opened the case and removed several electronic boards, no dust inside. i put electric contact spray to all connectors and assembled the device. no change, does not work.

the lamp led gets on after about 2 minutes after pushing the green blinking power button.

Literally the same issue...cleaned out the inside of the projector, tried a new bulb. Nothing works...

I was told by an expert that the fan should come on as soon as heat starts to come on. You should never turn a projector off with out the fan running for a while to cool the bulb down. Each projector is different but the fan has to operate on then all. There is so much heat in the bulbs that air has to keep them cool when they are operating as well have to cool gradually when they are shut down.

Replacing the lamp module requires special considerations:

  1. Turn off the projector.
  2. Wait 30 minutes for the projector to cool down and then unplug it.
  3. On the bottom of the projector, loosen the two screws on the lamp cover and then remove the cover.
  4. Loosen the two screws on the lamp module and pull out the module.
  5. Insert the new lamp module and tighten the two screws.
  6. Install the cover and tighten the two screws.
  7. Turn on the projector. If the lamp does not turn on after the warm-up period, try reinstalling the lamp again.
  8. Press enter on the projector or on the remote control to open the on-screen menu.
  9. Press the up (c00589410.gif ) or down (c00589411.gif ) arrow to select Setup and then press the right (c00589412.gif ) arrow.
  10. Press the up (c00589410.gif ) or down (c00589411.gif ) arrow to select Reset lamp hours and then press enter .

Hi

If the fan is not working, the lamp will not fire. Kindly make sure that the panels are seated properly. Also chek if the outer cover is seated back 100% as if that is not seated back 100%, the unit will not work.

I have a Dell 2300MP DLP projector. It lights up for about a minute then the light goes out. Both the Temp and Lamp indicators are glowing after the light goes out. The fan is working. Will just replacing...

Looks like there is power supply problem as well as the lamp.

1 Clean all filters
2 Check out power supply (usually a few capasitors need to be replaced)
3 Wuld be a good idea to check the lamp in wokring projector, but if the "Lamp" light is constantly on it is more likely a faulty lamp as well.

Check that you replaced the lamp in the right way, and also that the unit is well reassembled, you may also need to reset lamp counter from menu on some model.

Projector

A couple of things...

If the fan is not working, the lamp will not fire. If you have the owner's manual, it should indicate what the flashing lights mean. Check to make sure that the panels are seated properly. When you replaced the lamp, the outer cover was removed. If that is not seated back 100%, the unit will not work. There are a number of safety "checks" built into the unit to prevent damage and possibly fire as the lamps get really hot.

Check the items above and let us know your progress.

DELL 2300 MP NOT TURNING ON

Have the same problem here. Have two of these units. Took the bulb out of the one that had the Lamp light on, and put it in the other projector. The other projector worked perfectly. I have three bulbs, they all work in the one projector, they all cause Lamp Light in the other one. The manual states nothing about hard resetting the unit. Also note that, the fans do not power up instantly on power on, they come on about 5 seconds after pressing the power button.

Dell 2300MP Multimedia Projector

how do you know the lamp is OK if no image appears? If it is in fact okay, be sure that the cables are properly attached (s-video in s-video, composite video in composite video) Lastly be sure the focus ring has not come loose and is distorting an image to nothingness.
