Re: I had to assign my router a new IP address and that...
That is easy. You have to change the Default Gateway.
Make sure you are running DHCP in the Router as well. Otherwise you may have to change the IP Address of the Computer to suite the New IP Address and its Subnet.
- You have to go to "Network Connections" in the Control panel.
- Go to the Wireless Adapter Section and Choose the Local Connection.
- Right Click on Properties and the Double Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
- If you are using a "Static IP Address", Please change the IP Address of your Machine to suite the IP Address and Change the Default Gateway to the New Address (And then the DNS Server Address as well, if you are running DNS from your Router).
- If you are running DHCP (You will see that the boxes are Blank and "Obtain IP Address Automatically" and "Obtain DNS Address Automatically" selected) this cannot happen. Then you have to check your Router's DNS Settings for the Internal Network. Make Suitable Changes.
- If you have tried this only once and if you have the DHCP running try changing only the DNS in the TCP/IP settings. It may work. Or try to Release the IP and Renewing it.
- Use ipconfig /release and then ipconfig / renew on a Command Prompt.
- If you are running DNS and DHCP Locally, then you have to change their settings to Point to the Router.
