My Sony Bravia KDL-V40XBR1 will power on, only to give me a black screen. The sound comes in through the cable (HDMI input). I am unable to toggle between other video inputs, cannot control volume, or change TV channel. I have tried the reset options including powering on with the remote while holding the up button, with no success (the reset sequence won't even operate). Please help!

I'm having the same problem. I have noticed on mine that the menu when brought up is clear and I can see it perfectly. The picture on all the inputs is just as described above though. BUT, like I said I can see the menu just fine. This leads me to believe that it's not the panel. Anyone have a solution to this, or at least know what could be causing it?
