You need to use the supplied battery charger to charge the battery. The battery goes into the charger, and then you plug the charger into a wall outlet.

You can download a copy of the manual from the manufacturer's web site at http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=DSCW100

Regards battery charger #60581 - Purchased June 2017 - a month ago I realized and became aware the battery needs charge to operate it, what are my options now?

if battery is dead, it is time to replace it. You can try to charge , or start car, but I would not drive with bad battery., or charging system.Refer to instructions that came with unit.

Troubleshooting Laptop Battery Problems

The first step in troubleshooting battery life or charging problems is to check your owner's manual or the manufacturer's website for how to interpret the status LEDs on the laptop. The LEDs on the laptop will change color or blink when there's a charging problem. The operating manual for the laptop or a search of the manufacturer's web site should tell you exactly what the LEDs are indicating.

If the LEDs indicate that the battery is being continually charged, yet the battery only lasts a short period of time, there's a good chance the battery is worn out or defective. Before giving up, perform one last test to determine if the operating system software is interfering with charging. Let the battery charge overnight with the AC adapter plugged in and the laptop turned off. If the battery won't take a charge with the laptop turned off, you can try powering on, entering CMOS Setup, and letting it sit and charge on the Setup screen for a few hours.

Even if the battery is healthy and the laptop charging system is working properly, the battery lifetime will be variable with how hard you work it. If you're in the habit of turning the screen brightness all the way up and choosing the highest performance battery management profile, the battery will run down much quicker than otherwise. You could change your battery management profile if needed. There are a number of predefined battery management profiles in the operating system, accessible through the little battery icon in the system tray.

The ambient room temperature and the temperature of the laptop (if you've left it in a hot car in the summer or a cold car in the winter) will affect the battery life as well.

New battery and only charge to 45%?

My new battery cam with an eight page manual containing instructions got use in a translated (poorly) version of the Chinese original. Of course I did not need a manual to install a new battery and ran into the same problem as you. Refer to the discarded manual and find one and a half pages on how to initialize a new battery.
OOPS JPG came out too small to read so here is a rough OCR

"User Manual on Laptop Battery

Respected users:
Thank you very much for trusting and using our laptop battery. Before using the battery, read this manual carefully. This instruction manual elaborates how to use and maintain the battery correctly. Batteries are consumables, and have a limited service life. However, we can prolong the life of the laptop battery considerably through correct operation, proper charging/discharging and correct storage.
Calibrate your laptop battery to optimize its performance
Inside the laptop battery is microprocessor software, which calculates the battery volume during the charging/discharging. Batteries must be calibrated from time to time to ensure correctness of the time and the percentage displayed on the screen. You must implement a complete cycle of charging and discharging the battery at the beginning of using the computer, and repeat this cycle every two or three months. The charging and discharging procedure is as follows:
1.Set the Power Supply option first: Right click on the screen and select Property -> Screen Saver -> Power Supply -> Power Use Scheme -> Portable. In all the subsequent operations such as When Computer and Use Battery, select Never. Under the Alert option, deselect Alert for deficient battery and Alert for serious battery shortage.
2.Disconnect the power adapter and use the battery until the computer is powered off due to exhaustion of the battery.
3.Connect the power adapter until the battery is charged to 100%. Before initial use of the computer (or resuming use of the computer after long-term storage), the battery must be charged to full.and discharged for 3-4 times to optimize the performance. The charging process takes more than five hours.
Note: When your battery is calibrated and reaches the best performance, set the Power Supply Options on your computer to the default value to ensure that the computer can send correct alerts to you, for example, low battery alert, and alert before the computer enters the hibernation status.
You must discharge the battery to let the computer power off, and then charge the battery to 100% to calibrate it. Then you can connect or disconnect the power supply anytime regardless of the status of the battery volume. Moreover, you can perform a deep charging and discharging cycle under control of the protection circuit in a time"

We are recharging the battery for our key operated mountfield but have mislaid the manual. How long will it take to fully charge the battery?

For most batteries you need to charge them for about 24 hours. It should not hurt if you are off by a couple of hours.

My office has 2 Tekk NT 90 radios, but no user's manual or instructions for them. Need basic operation info so they can be used.

The Tekk NT90 is a basic walkie-talkie style radio. With a good battery they will operate a full business day on a charge. The radios should be charged overnight (or 8-12 hours) after the battery is depleted or nearly depleted. If using these in a business situation you can usually go a full 8-hr day on a charge. Battery packs have approx a 2 year life expectancy before needing replaced.

If you need more info, contact Tekk Inc at 800-521-8355.

Best regards.

I just received my new uniden scanner, and I am having problems with charging the radio. I was wondering do I have to have batteries in it ,to charge it with the dc that came along with the radio. How do I...

The BC72XLT is a battery-operated scanner, and your power supply is a battery charger, not a battery eliminator. You must have batteries in the unit for it to operate. You can install rechargeable batteries and use it in conjunction with the power supply, or you can run it on non-chargeable alkaline batteries.
