Hi,

To program the DVD player's remote control to operate your TV, follow these steps:

  1. Turn on the TV, and then aim the DVD player’s remote control at the TV.
  2. Press and hold the [TV Power] button on the DVD player's remote control.
  3. While holding the [TV Power] button, use the number buttons on the remote to enter the two digit code assigned to your brand of TV.
Note 1: If your DVD player's remote control can be programmed to operate a TV, the TV brand codes will be listed in your owner's manual. If you don't have your owner's manual available, click here to go to the download center and download a copy.
Note 2: Many TV brands have more than one code. If the first code does not work, try the next available code.
  1. If the TV turns off, the code worked correctly and your remote control is now programmed. If the TV stays on, repeat steps 1 through 3 with a different code listed for your brand of TV.
Note: If none of the codes listed allows your DVD player's remote to control your TV, then the remote is not compatible with your specific model.

Let us know if you want something more else please accept the suggestion.

Better to get a Facsimile Remote, a copy made for the unit. It is unlikely, you can input codes to work both applications in a combined set.

Lost the remote when moving,

Unfortunately, I think the only way to fix this is to program the player into a Universal Remote.

I get set 3 when i press the remote and nothing else no matter what i press play etc any suggestions

Try reprogramming the remote so it matches the unit. If you get SET 3 or DVD 3 on the display, chances are the remote's command code is different to the unit, in which case the following may help a bit:

Ensuring new batteries are in the remote, correctly polarised ( + and - ) and with the remote pointed at the unit (while unit is on), press and hold both the [3] and [ENTER/OK] buttons TOGETHER for 5 - 10 seconds, then release. The remote should now fully control the unit.

If it doesn't, check the batteries and repeat the above. The above procedure is a suggestion based on Panasonic DVD recorders and their operation troubleshooting manuals. Give it a try at least.

My panasonic dvd recorder / remote control is not working On pressing button on remote I get dvd2 on recorder screen but no other response. I have tried reset without effect

Try reprogramming the remote itself; i.e. point remote at unit (while on), press and hold the [2] and [ENTER/OK] buttons together for 5 - 10 seconds, then release. The remote's command should now match that of the unit (DVD 2) (the unit should now recognise the remote). Failing that, remove batteries from remote, replace with new ones (just in case) and repeat the above suggestion. You should not need to reset the main unit.

Whenever the batteries are replaced in Panasonic remotes, in some cases, a remote command reprogram is often required to ensure that the remote commands the unit fully and correctly. You may find this procedure outlined in your instruction manual. Hope this helps a tad.

I had some wine over my controle.i cleaned it.and now it given a remote dvd 2 at the .i did enter and 1 but it does nothing.i try to reset the system but nothing works.if i put a button ythan he...

Sounds like the unit is in remote command mode 2 (DVD 2) - and you set the remote incorrectly, since you said you did ENTER and 1 on it. You can try to reset the remote to command mode 2 (DVD 2) by pressing (and holding) ENTER and 2 (together) - for 5 - 10 seconds - on the remote while pointing it at the unit, then release. The remote should now match/command the unit correctly and fully (unit must be turned on when doing this and should always be done whenever batteries are replaced in the remote).

This hopefully should work for you.

I entered,in error, Command mode 3 on the set up and now the remote control won't operate the machine. The display keeps showing DVD 1,how do I restore things?

Try this (works for Panasonic) - remove the batteries from the remote (as if to replace them with new ones), press any button on it to clear its buffer, then re-insert them (if they are reasonably fresh). Point remote at unit, press 1 and ENTER/OK buttons together - hold for 10 seconds, then release. This should restrore the command back from remote to the unit, and it should now fully operate. Just something to try, it may work.

Many Panasonic DVD recorders operate on the same principle; there are 3 remote command mode settings (default is DVD1) - so it's very easy to make errors in setup, but just as easy to correct.

My Blu ray player keeps flashing an "RC-1" error anytime a button is pressed on the remote.

Remote command mode is different to the unit. Try resetting the remote by doing the following;

While unit is on, but no discs loaded or playing, remove the batteries from the remote (as if you were replacing them), press any button on the remote to clear its buffer, then, if the batteries you removed are OK, re-insert them. Point remote at the player, press and hold 1 and ENTER/OK buttons together for 10 seconds, then release. This should restore your remote's command to the original default mode, and it should control the player fully.

Panasonic and some SONY units operate on this principle with remote command modes (these differ between models). RC1 / DVD1 / SET1 is usually the default.

Very easy to do, takes a few seconds, and costs nothing.

Sony remote RM-DX500 not working with Disc Explorer 400 DVP-CX985V, but does work with tv. How can I program it to work the dvd player?

There are 2 set's of command switch's for the dvd player, a 3 position command switch on the back side of the dvd player and another 3 position command switch on the inside of the remote right next to the batteries, easiest option is to remove batteries from remote and test each one of the 3 position switch's labeled 1,2 & 3 and test remote control.

I have a Sanyo remote,RMT-U110,I entered the codes for the vcr,a broksonic mod.dvcr 810a,these codes do nothing for the vcr it wll not work.

Most universal remotes that I have dealt with will not be able to fully control a combo unit(DVD/VCR) the basic functions of a VCR and DVD player are the same so the remote cannot isolate/diffrentiate the commands from one another. Good luck !

Need remote code for DVD player

From my searches I don't think you will find it. Try going to http://www.sony.ca/view/cic_contact.htm and asking them directly for it. I can't see them saying no.
