I cannot give you the link to download the LAN driver because you did not provide details of the make and model of your laptop. When you give me the details then I can assist you.
You want to try and see if there is a driver update for the ethernet controller. Go to: START> RIGHT CLICK "MY COMPUTER"> then PROPERTIES> DEVICE MANAGER> NETWORKING> ETHERNET PORT. You can roll-back the driver or you can try to update the ethernet driver using Windows Update Program. Make sure the driver is located in the device manager system and windows recognizes it. Your Ethernet Controller is a discontinued product. If you can't seem to get the ethernet controller to work and don't have the Floppy Disk Driver for it, then I suggest replacing it with a new stand alone ethernet controller that uses PCI or PCI-E ports. You can find some at Best Buy and Staples. They are easy to install and they don't use your motherboard memory and are not integrated on motherboard. I hope you find something that works and you can get back online again.
Hi Chris,
I see that you are having problem installing the driver for your USB Ethernet adapter. You can try to download the driver using another computer in the link that is posted below. Save it on a thumb driver and double click on the application. You might wanna make sure that you have an extractor for compressed files (rar) like winrar. If you don't, you might want to include downloading Winrar in the thumb drive as well and install it in your computer.
USB Ethernet Driver Winrar
you may wanna check if the wireless switch is on or off (usually located on the front of the pc and it needs to be toggle on the right side)..if not work you may wanna try to update the wifi driver under device manager..

Hi,
If you have no internet because the ethernet controller was not installed, you will need to download the ethernet drivers from another computer.
To do this, you will need either the motherboard model or the ethernet controller model. Search google for your motherboard model, and then on the drivers page, find "LAN drivers". Download the drivers, save them to a usb and transfer and install them to your pc.
