Trying to send a fax after receiving a fax and I get a Phone Line in Use error. Checked my phone lines and they all have dial tones. Seems that my phone line locks up and I have to cycle power on the printer for it to work. My phone line has a ring master number that is shared with my home # if that means anything. I never had this problem with my old printer/fax.

you need to find a telephone with 2 conductors and not 4. I tried it and it worked. Cable phone service does not use VOIP it actually uses services similar to the telephone company. Instead of converting the analog signal of the phone somewhere down the street at the switch it converts it to digital at the cablemodem and sends it at different frequency on the cable. It then goes to the cable company and hooks into the regular telephone system.

It was working fine with an older Lexmark all in one that I had. Yes I've had this a few months now and just noticed this problem. I don't fax much but I never had this problem with the older Lexmark. Everything else is the same as before, phone line, etc.. I will attemp to contact Lexmark support. Thanks.
