If you have adequate separate ventilation and suffient support for the upper unit it should be OK. You can't just stack one on top of the other or the top one would over hear.

If Iknew what model you have I could answer the OF code. LG has the OFF code that tells you that it is i demo mode but different refrigerators have different codes. See if you can locate the model number in the list below and contact me and I will be able to answer you a lot easier.
Me too, I have a Hotpoint Iced Diamond Under counter fridge that needs a new seal and i also cant see any fixings to remove it. I did read somewhere that you can't replace them you need to buy a complete new door.
check the drain that is inside of the freezer compartment at the bottom. you may have to disssasemble the covers to get to it. if its clogged the water turns to ice real quick and blocks air to the refrigerator
