Check the contacts on the battery case. As the camera is jolted up and down it sometimes weakens the metal that holds the battery securely in the case. The easiest way I find to test this is to open the battery door, push the battery(s) into place and hold a piece of metal against the open contacts on the other side to bridge the circuit. If the camera starts, that is your problem. You can possibly raise the tension of the metal contact on the door by stuffing paper under it.
Thanks, I reread my post and should have said A2. I do not see metal on the door to hold a piece of metal to to test this. Any suggestions?
Yeah, there are different models, the one that takes AA batteries has a metal contact that bridges the back of the cells. The one that has a brick has only one side of contacts. But the same principle applies, without using any metal to connect the contacts just push it in and see if you can wiggle it around to get power. Then wedge the battery in a good position if you do.
Let me know if this doesn't work, there are some other things you can try unrelated to re-seating the battery. But this is an easy fix if it's the problem.
Sorry for the delay, unfortunately that didn't/doesn't work either. I wiggled, held the battery, outside of a d/c plug which I don't have I'll take any other suggestions you might have. Thanks for your help!
