Doesnt turn on, red flashing on top. we think it has something to do with water but cant figure out how to drain?

Check the screen area around the sump right below the lower spray arm if it is built up with lime deposit then the wash pump is starving for water and cannot pump water to the upper spray arm this would also starve water to the drain pump.

I think I had the same problem. I don't know much about dishwashers, but the "Flashing Rinse" has something to do with the drain, or the drain pump (which is why the water doesn't drain).

My dishwasher stopped its cycle, after having filled up with water, even though everything else worked fine, because the drain pump was not even turning on. So I guess, the first question I asked was, is the drain blocked? No. When this happened the first time, the flashing rinse cam up. After that, the dishwasher just wouldn't drain, and there was no longer a flashing rinse.

So then, I figured, the drain pump is probably rooted. The drain pump is found underneith the dishwasher, just behind the front panel on the left hand side.You'll need to remove the metal covers from the front and the left.

When this happened to me, I thought I'd need to buy a new pump, so I pulled the other one out (its a bit fiddly, you have to disconnect the two electrical wires, then remove the drain pipe from it, and then wiggle it off. But when I got it out, I unscrewed it (it has the special hexagonal screws, not phillips or flathead), and it turns out, a fairly large fruit seed had got into the drain pump and blocked it, preventing it from spinning. I put it back together again, and it worked.
It so far has beaten paying $100 for a new pump.

Now if the machine is still full of water I need you to bail out some of the water by hand with a pot or bucket.Bail out just enough so you can look under the machine to the front right.You should see a pump with a red or black fan attached to it.If you see this pump try turning the fan clockwise and anticlockwise a few times to loosen it just in case it is jammed.Then put it back on its feet and select a spin cycle and push start.Hopefully it starts to drain.Please reply to tell me how you got on or if you have the pump with no fan attached.

You should recheck the wireing as you described in your problem and make sure that the water didn't short anything out. If not you should check the motor, motor coupler, the timer, or the start motor capacitor.

I removed the drain hose from the bottom left rear corner of the washer & cleaned a large amount of gooey sludge from the bottom of the drain inside the washing machine.

Hi claire your problem is the pump braking down check to make sure there is nothing in the pump if you still cant get the door open pull the mains plug out and turn off the water valves red and blue take off the top of the machine and get a basin take the drain hose out and put it in the basin and bring the two down to the floor empty all the water out you should now be able to get the door open remember to check the pump and the bearings

Ok so if its not reformat the hd .. if it flashes other colors then red let me know as this is a motherboard failure!

if you havent figured it out turn it on then back off and it will start to drain into it.

it needs a new drain relay box 120 volt the drain is stuck open the jp 24 were not very good machines the red lines are drain lines if you plug up the drian lines at fillup the machine will wash but now it will never drain a new drain box is not cheap i can sell you one at cost

take drain hose off ,put end in pail, then try pump out.
if it doesnt drain check your pump
