My microwave sounds like it is working, but won't heat up the food. A few weeks before, the door hinge or something went on it too...the door became very heavy all of a sudden (door opens downward). Now it just doesn't heat the food. Help..it is not even 3 yrs old and very expensive
As I suspected, there are 2 torsion springs in the unit associated with the door. Sounds like one or both has broken or come out of place.
That prevents one or more door switches from being activated properly, and such excessive or intermittent switching can damage the switch, resulting in a lack of heating.
While I didn't find service data on your specific model, model KBMC140HBL0 is similar, and you can see helpful exploded view diagrams of it: http://tinyurl.com/gv383
There should also be a "mini-manual" either on the rear of the unit or hidden inside the unit behind the control panel, which is very helpful when troubleshooting.
Unless you or someone you know want to tackle it, I'd say you should call for service.

Good luck.

Hi, thanks for your response. The model number is YKBMC140HS03. If it was the door spring, whould the microwave still run, but not heat? Someone said if it is not heating then it is the magnetron? Thanks for your help!
How did you fix or change the spring in the door? I have the exact same problem
Sounds like a door spring or spring mount broken loose, and the door switch is not getting turned on with the door closed.
If you could post your model number, we can probably give more specific details.
