Some time ago, after installing Windows 7, my Dell 1525 started changing internal clock as it wants: yesterday there was 2010, today is 2021... But it wouldn't be a serious problem if the laptop worked stable. Sometimes, when booting, it shows the message "time of day clock stopped". The one way to resolve the problem is to remove the CMOS battery and then to install it back. But it takes rather mach time. How can I resolve this problem?

Here is the problem if your computer is a Spanish version or was installed using a spanish version of windows you'll have to reinstall using a english windows disk.

Open Regional and Language Options by clicking the Start button png" alt="Picture of the Start button">, clicking Control Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Regional and Language Options.

Click the Keyboards and Languages tab.

Under Display language, choose a language from the list, and then click OK.

Suggest OpenOffice instead.

1) Anything generated on a computer with OpenOffice, can be used on a computer with MS Office.

2) Anything generated on a computer with MS Office, can be used on a computer with OpenOffice.

3) There is no 'learning curve'. The user interface of OpenOffice looks VERY close to MS Office.

4) It is F-R-E-E

(Told MS Office to....um, well..........and have been using OpenOffice since. More than 3 years ago. Tired of MS Office 'parlor tricks', and losing saved documents, (Try 3 years of tax papers)

Am I proficient with using an office program? Nope. Admit it. I am a computer hardware geek.
Still stand by OpenOffice though, because those who ARE proficient, say it is GOOD.

On the bottom of your laptop there is is Service tag. You will need to go to the Dell Support site enter the service tag nymber for the PC this will give you a list of drivers for your 1525. Download and install all the dell drivers preferably for Windows 7 if they are not available then Vista or XP drivers should work.

This will return all of the proprietary functions of your Dell 1525

windows dose not control any flickering unless the driver is being updated if thats not the case your flourecent bulb might be getting old inside the lcd!

First thing you needs to install new windows via boot able CD.
Please do not start installing windows while running ur old windows. i mean please not upgrade ur windows to newer once.

Steps for installing fresh windows :
1. Make bootable win xp disk.
2. Insert Disk into drive and boot ur laptop with CD drive (If unable to boot then change BIOS settings)
3.Setup will automatically detect ur previous version of Windows.Just ignore it and start fresh installation and alll Done.

The Bios battery is probably dead. It is installed on the motherboard, replace the battery.

Follow this simple Installation step to downgrade Windows Vista to Windows XP.
a. You have to prepare SATA Driver on your USB Disk. You may get the Dell Inspiron 1525 SATA HERE
b. You have to prepare Dell Inspiron 1525 Wireless Card Driver as well known as Broadcom BCM 4311.
c. For Dell Inspiron 1525 Webcam you have to get Creative Labs Webcam that you may get it in the Windows Update Sites.
