Hello,

the reason your laptop wont show your sd card on the screen is because it is not reading the sd card.

it is not reading the disc either because
1. there may be a problem with the card reader,
2. there may be a problem with the slot on the laptop,
3. there may be a problem with the memory card.

to check if it is the card reader, try to use the same memory card reader with another sd card on another laptop and see if it will read it.

to check if it is the slot on the laptop, try to use a new sd card and a new card reader on the laptop to see if it works, if it does not, then you know where the fault is from.

finally, to test the sd card, try to use it on another laptop to see what happens. if it does not work then you can tell where the fault is from.

whichever the fault is, you can change them.

but if it is the card slot, you will have to open up the laptop and clean the slot carefully.

take care.

Perhaps the sim card was not initialized. Initialization allows you to communicate.

I am getting memory card error with canon powershot a410

The A410 works with SD cards. Your 8GB card is an SDHC card and won't work in devices not designed to use them. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Olympus T-100, write protect shows on the screen & won't operate ??

Look at your memory card. SD/SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Computer won't recognize my camera when I plug it in

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Error SD Card

You will have to plug it into a computer with an adapter to see if it is corrupted. MicroSD cards do fail sadly. If there is valuable information on it, a local computer company may be able to recover limited data.

I do not have much knowledge about computers but I have inserted my sd card into my computer and immediately a screen came up,gave me prompts and i followed them and i was able to upload my pictures from...

When you insert SD card it should show up as a drive on your My Computer screen.

Select My Computer from the Start in windows and check. If it is not showing up then it may not be of the correct format for the PC to read. If it showing as a drive then simply click on the drive letter and you will see all the files there.

Tom tom 300

"My tom tom wonts switch on. I have reset it and still it comes on with a boom boom noise and shows the 2 hands on the screen. It also shows the loading bar at the bottom, but then it just freezes and nothing happens. can anyone help please ASAP"

Sound as though your Map data card is corrupt. Remove the SD card and check it with your computer using a card reader. Backup the SD card onto your computer. You can run either chkdsk or go to the drive letter under 'My Computer' right click and select properties, then tools, then check now. You can also try starting the Tomtom with the SD card out of the unit. It should show a picture of the Tomtom with a 'X'. You can also try copying the data on the SD card to another SD card.
