Burner valves stuck and will not turn. First the knob for bottom left burner would not turn, it felt like it was stuck. after a couple of weeks, it slowly started to give and finally I was able to get the knob to turn. It still is a little more difficult to turn than when it was new. Now both of the right knobs are stuck. The bottom left knob is stuck with the valve open and gas. I had to shut the gas down to the cooktop. I think the valve stem is fused stuck. Another issue that may be related, after washing the burners, the igniter would keep firing every 20-30 seconds. it stopped after about 20 minutes.

Broken knob

Turn off the power to the appliance. Squirt WD40 liberally all round the knob, trying to get it in behind it. Wiggle the knob and press it down and up if possible to let the WD40 oil work in to the dirty or stuck joints. Leave for a few hours and wiggle it again to see if its loosened up.

Knobs stuck, won't turn on

turn the gas off. take the knob /s off get some wd40 spray them. then tap the tops with a hammer using a bit of wood. dont hit hard you just need to make it move a bit. if this dont work you will need new valves. remember dont hit them hard. just tap them.

Kitchenaid KECC502 Electric Cooktop: LED light at the left rear knob is always on but the left rear burner single or dual does not work. I tried to turn knob on and off but nothing enable burner.

I wish I had the exact answer, because I have the same exact problem!!! You posted this about a month ago, which is when my unit started having LED "on" problems. Just in the past week, the top left power on LED will not go off, and nothing I can do gets the dual large burner to come on. Any thoughts??? Reply to: [email protected]

Miele KM 3474 stove top lights but turns off after 30 seconds

Does the burner attempt to re-ignite after it goes out? If so, it's probably the therocouple. If not, it could be the burner valve. Be sure the caps and rings are correctly seated on the burners and be sure to firmly press the burner knob down to start the flame.

Dead burner on kitchenaid gas cooktop?

it is strange that you have no gas and no spark! if you held a match to the burner and turned the burner valve on it would lite di spite a failed ignitor, but for it not to lite, the burner valve[its what the knob attaches too] would have to be blocked[thats rare]or ........i got it .....the knob is broken.thats the only thing the burner valve and the spark ignitor have in common.try a knob from another burner................again.you have spark, because others are working.spark on troubled burner would work if valve blocked at orifice outlet, and if spark failed you would still get gas they work independent of each other,[but in unison].thats why im thinking knob.its the item that works both .when you turn the knob it opens the gas valve and as the gas valve rotates by turning the knob it activates or turns the spark switch so it closes the curcit allowing the electricty to the spark moduel.hey i hope that helps a little. God bless ,tom
