My ice maker is only making half he ice cubes it's supposed to. Only one side of the tray is filling up and I think that since there is only 3 cubes being made at a time, when they dispense they aren't enough to push the door to the ice bin open all the way, because they end up sitting there and when I open the door to the tray they fall out.

SOURCE: Ice Maker Overflowing

i would recommend changing the water valves as they may be sticking or leaking now you can take the icemaker loose get a small baby bottle short the terminals to cycle water fill catch it with the bottle and see how much water it dumps should be about 4 ounces if the valve leaks will over fill the ice maker over a period of time say the valve is leaking a few drops at a time and the bail arm has the icemaker shut off because its touching ice in the bin but the water just keeps dripping down the fill tube till it runs over did you replace the whole icemaker or just the motor module

SOURCE: Ice Maker Freezing Up and Ice not dispensing

Sounds like the water valve has a small leak and continuously drips water onto the icemaker.  Have the water valve checked and if necessary, replaced.

Top 2 possiblities

1/ The motor that ejects the ice is shot.

or

2/ the heater element that melts the ice into pieces.

Here is where you can probably pinpoint problem.

Making Ice When everything is hooked up, the icemaker begins its cycle. The cycle is usually controlled by a simple electrical circuit and a series of switches. In the diagram below, you can see how the icemaker moves through its cycle.
"); //-->

  • At the beginning of the cycle, a timed switch in the circuit briefly sends current to a solenoid water valve. In most designs, the water valve is actually positioned behind the refrigerator, but it is connected to the central circuit via electrical wires. When the circuit sends current down these wires, the charge moves a solenoid (a type of electromagnet), which opens the valve.
  • The valve is only open for about seven seconds; it lets in just enough water to fill the ice mold. The ice mold is a plastic well, with several connected cavities. Typically, these cavities have a curved, half-circle shape. Each of the cavity walls has a small notch in it so each ice cube will be attached to the cube next to it.
  • Once the mold is filled, the machine waits for the water in the mold to freeze. The cooling unit in the refrigerator does the actual work of freezing the water, not the icemaker itself (see How Refrigerators Work for details). The icemaker has a built-in thermostat, which monitors the temperature level of the water in the molds. When the temperature dips to a particular level -- say, 9 degrees Fahrenheit (-13 degrees Celsius) -- the thermostat closes a switch in the electrical circuit (see How Home Thermostats Work for details on this operation).
  • Closing this switch lets electrical current flow through a heating coil underneath the icemaker. As the coil heats up, it warms the bottom of the ice mold, loosening the ice cubes from the mold surface.

-->The icemaker has a heating coil underneath the ice mold.
  • The electrical circuit then activates the icemaker's motor. The motor spins a gear, which rotates another gear attached to a long plastic shaft. The shaft has a series of ejector blades extending out from it. As the blades revolve, they scoop the ice cubes up and out of the mold, pushing them to the front of the icemaker. Since the cubes are connected to one another, they move as a single unit.
"); //-->
  • At the front of the icemaker, there are plastic notches in the housing that match up with the ejector blades. The blades pass through these notches, and the cubes are pushed out to a collection bin underneath the icemaker.
  • The revolving shaft has a notched plastic cam at its base. Just before the cubes are pushed out of the icemaker, the cam catches hold of the shut-off arm, lifting it up. After the cubes are ejected, the arm falls down again. When the arm reaches its lowest resting position, it throws a switch in the circuit, which activates the water valve to begin another cycle. If the arm can't reach its lowest position, because there are stacked-up ice cubes in the way, the cycle is interrupted. This keeps the icemaker from filling your entire freezer with ice; it will only make more cubes when there is room in the collection bin.
This system is effective for making ice at home, but it doesn't produce enough ice for commercial purposes, such as restaurants and self-service hotel ice machines. In the next section, we'll look at a larger, more powerful icemaker design.

My Bosch ice maker has a problem. It has frozen over and does not dispense the ice cubes, the refrigerator thinks it has dispensed the cubes and so try's to fill the ice cube tray up again with wa

Ice makers have heaters that loosen the cubes when time for harvest. Sounds like the heater on yours is bad, or maybe the ice maker itself is just bad. Most likely will have to replace ice maker.

Kenmore 795.5102 will not make ice

The problem is the ice maker, the modular head of the ice maker has broken, hence the clicking sound and the raised arm stuck up. You will need to have an accurate model number and contact a local parts distributor for a new ice maker. It is a simple repair usually only 2-3 screws.

Ice maker only fills the tray partially.

There is an adjustment, but first check your filters, including the one in the inlet of the control valve. To find the adjustment, take the cover off the front of the ice maker. On the side may be a little hole. Look for any 'increase' arrow or such. If not, use a small screwdriver to turn the adjustment a half turn and let it make a load of ice. If it gets smaller, go the other way, use small adjustments. If you can get the owner's manual, it will help a lot. Google your unit for one, you may be able to get it downloaded free from Whirlpool.

Remove white plastic cover on ice maker. On bottom you will notice the heater connections, check for voltage. If good, heater is most likely bad.

Lg side by side Ice maker not filling all of the tray/dripping

You may have a restriction in the icemaker.  Remove the icemaker and make sure that there is no ice buildup other than in the cube slots.  Also make sure that the fill tube is clear of any ice obstruction.

Small ice cubes The ice maker is not supplying enough water. The result is very small ice cubes. The water supply pressure is on max, can there be a way to adjust the water level? The tray is not even...

The ice maker is time filled, it only has a certain time in which to fill. There is no way to adjust the water level. Check the pressure limiting valve which is in the water line before the filter. Have you replaced the filter? Remove the filter and pressure limiting valve and see if the ice maker receives more water. If it does, then replace the filter and check again. If it is still good, the pressure limiting valve is faulty.
