Hi. All Dell Notebooks has this Image Restore in one of the partitions of the hard drive.

You may restore factory settings of your computer but your files will be lost.

Try to boot using safemode with networking first so you can save your files online.

Turn your computer on and on the Dell logo, press Ctrl+F11 if system came with pre-loaded XP then follow the intructions.

If system came with windows Vista, on Dell logo, press F8 and select Repair your computer and press Enter. Click Next and/or enter your password if asked. If not, follow the intructions until your system goes back to factory image.

Hope it helps!

^_^

Starting problem

Immediately after seeing the Dell logo, keep tapping the 'F8' key,
until you see a "menu" (white text over a black background)
giving "startup" options for Windows XP.

Select "Safe Mode" and see if you can start in that mode.
Then, use "System Restore" to go "back" in time, to the most-recent checkpoint (date/time) where your computer _DID_ work.

Restore to that point, and restart.

Can XP & Windows 2007 can be loaded in laptop 14AR of DELL ? plz conirm.

Hi,
The Inspiron 14 that you have isnot compatible with windows xp, as it needs certain drivers for the hardware that is installed on the computer that are not supported by XP. However you can install windows vista as an operating system and install Office 200. However if you are using the Linux operating system the office 2007 would not be compatible with the same.

Thanks

This is a direct link to the Dell site for all of your Inspiron 1525 Drivers. Choose the XP operating system and all driver choices will come up. I STRONGLY advise against go elsewhere to get these drivers, especially when you can get them from Dell directly.

Windows Vista Start up problem, reboots automatically.

Boot to recovery console using XP CD, run CHKDSK /R and see if that resolves.
If no go, try a reinstall of windows, if still no go, then replace HDD
