Visit the official software download site at Microsoft:You'll want to select your operating system, 32- or 64-bit then your language. This should be the same software that came on your install disc.

Note: to find out if you have 32 or 64 bit windows in Vista and 7 click on Start then right-click Computer and select properties. A window will come up with that information. If you have XP you would have to go out your way to get 64-bit so if you aren't sure then you have 32-bit.

Microsoft laser moues 6000 v2, doesn't work. it worked fine for like half a year... and then suddenly my computer "doesn't recognize" the transceiver piece...

Remove the battery of the mouse and install new one and then press connect button from the mouse side and the receiver side also.

Number key pad giving symbols rather than the numeric number

If you haven't installed the software which goes with this wireless mouse, then it's time you did.

1 - First, remove the mouse and replace it wih a normal, wired mouse.
2 - Restart your PC
3 - Insert the CD or DVD which contains the Wireless mouse software, from Micosoft.
4 - If you don't have it, download it from www.microsoft.com/hardware - at this location, look for the software and download it.
5 - Install the wireless mouse software only and, when it tells you to do so, remove the wired mouse and replace it with the wireless mouse from Microsoft, along with the transceiver.
6 - Now, run the Microsoft software and choose the keys you want when you press certain buttons.
7 - As you get use to the software, you will also get used to the way the buttons work with the mouse's buttons and what they will do for you.
8 - When you have gotten used to what the buttons do, then you can start working alone, without the software.
9 - It will all become like second nature to you as you use it more and more.

Enjoy!
