So sorry to hear that.
Your router has broken (brick) and you couldn't repair it without proper tools and knowledge. One way to solve this problem is to replace your router chip eprom.
I'm an electrical and electronic engineer (Iranian and Persian native
speaker) that had the same problem, exactly my modem went to death (just
power LED is ON) after upgrading from version 3 to 6 and I have
precisely similar TP-LINK TD-8901G ADSL2+ router but I found a great
"step by step" tutorial in a Russian website(in their forum) which
contributed me significantly; I hope it might help you too. [email protected] +989358817467 http://www.lan23.ru/forum/showthread.php?t=6859&page=1
may find this page helpful. http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php...om_a_Bad_Fl ash Its not for the TP-Link
router but the same principle could be applied to you with the correct
firmware. Its worked for me on more than a few occasions. Providing you
can ping the router via a lan cable then the chances of recovering it
are very high.
1. dowloan latest firmware for router
2.only connect router and computer with cable
3.open router page
4 go to upgrade router option, click on brouse select file then click on upload
5.after uploading router firmware ,reset router then
reconfigure router
Speak with your internet provider, it sounds to me that the apple people didnt know what the problem was without getting down and dirtyy with it so they replaced it hoping for an easy fix. Seems to me that either the internet signal is being interrupted between the isp and your home .. or the motorola modem is having problems. I have never been a fan of motorola modems to begin with. Also the rentals u get from cable companies are used.. and typically subpar bottom of the line equipment that fail often. IF you think you will be using cable internet for years to come, purchase a linksys modem, as it is you are paying $3-5 a month for the rental of the modem. But I digress, speak with your isp and see if they cant troubleshoot the problem.. if 2 airports are having the same problem the chances of it being the airport... slim to none. good luck with all of this post again if nothing changes.
had same prob. 3 wired an 1 wireless . wireless would not conn. an others lose connection . after cable upgrade it was in router upgrade changed settings in router i had to call maker of comps an get them to reset ip adds took almost 3 hours to get them all working again they will do a remote access help by useing your ip threw your internet company hope this helps
