Entering text When entering text to send message more then one letter shows when I'm only needing one letter at a time. Example I'm wanting to write "what" and "wy" appears instead of just the letter "w". What do I need to change? Thank-you.

Tracfone's instructions for how to text do not work! what's up?

Texting on this model a bit tricky. First pull up name & number of person you want to text to, if it is in your phone. Then hit short dash line under the word 'options'. Make sure #1, 'create message' is highlighted. Hit ok button. Now type message. If you want a 'v', for example, you have to hit the #8 button 3x quickly. If you make a mistake, hit 'clr' button on top right to clear it & retype. So, for example, you want to send the word 'please'. You would have to hit the #7 button once, wit a second for the curser on screen to move to next space, then hit the # 5 button 3x quickly to get to the 'l', wait for curser, then hit #3 button 2x quickly to get to the 'e', etc. You get the drift. This model is not very conducive to sending longer texts. It's too time consuming & annoying. But short ones are ok if you have the patience. IF you need a space in between words, hit the '0' button once (that's zero, not 'o'). This is where text code comes in handy for shortening words, such as "LOL" for laughing out loud, etc.

Once you are through typing note & want to send it, just hit ok button to send. It may take a bit of time for message to go through. If you type a lot, it may take up more than 1 page, if this happens, the phone will ask you 'message is 3 pages, do you want to send now', or something like that. The longer the message is, the longer it will take to send.

One thing to keep in mind, before you start typing, make sure you hit the bottom lower key that has the asterisk & up arrow on it 3x quickly, or else when you type, it will be all garbley goop. If you want a capital letter, you also have to hit that same key once before you hit letter key. It only works for one letter at a time, so if you need to do more than one, say you want to type "DVD", you have to hit asterisk key once, then #3 button for 'D', then asterisk key again, then #8 button 3x for "V', etc. If you need a symbol or punctuation, use the bottom right hand key that has the # sign on it. Hit it once & some symbols come up, you will have to move over to the one you want by using outlined area around the 'ok' button. Once you get to symbol you want, hit 'ok' button it will add that symbol or punctuation to your text & return you to your text area.

If you do not see the symbol or punctuation you want, hit small dash under the word 'next' & it will take you to the next page. I think there are 7 pages of these different symbols & punctuation.

Hope all that helps. Email me at: [email protected], if you have any other questions. Put short note in subject box so I know what this is about. Good luck!

I have a simple samsung cell phone from sprint. I want to learn how to text but when I try the letters come out crazy. If I try pressing 3 times to get the f, I get def and this stays like this. How so I...

Simple. Go to your phones settings in the messages ((Messages, Menu, Then It should say Text Input Somewhere)). Change your text input to TAP English((I Believe)). To Text in your current Setting which is called PREDICTIVE TEXT. Simply press the letter you need 1 time and then the next. For Example: DOG
Press the D 1 Time
Then The O 1 Time
Then the G 1 Time
It should spell out by itself, but if not their should be a scroll key((Depends on what phone you have to determine Scroll Key))

Learning to type a message

Hi there,

It must be on predictive text. Basically you type the numbers according to any of the letters that are there.

So for example, if you wanted to type "Hello"
It would be 4(H) 3(E) 5(L) 5(L) 6(O)

This will show a word it thinks it can make from these numbers, generally by pressing the star key, you can flick through the options of words. If your word isn't there, you will have the option to type it in manually. For this (using the same example) you would have to type
44(H)
33(E)
555(L)
wait for a bit for the cursor to move over
555(L)
666(O)

You can see that predicitve is much faster.

I hope i fix ya problem :)

When trying to text incorrect letters appear

There should be an option somewhere when you are in the message menu on how to switch from the text mode that tries to finish your words for you to the text mode where you have to push the button however many times to get the the single letter you want. Although if you are in the auto finish mode you can simply ignore what it's suggesting and continue spelling out the word yourself if you want. example: hit 9 6 8 one time each to spell the word "you"..buy if your trying to be able to short hand text like "thk u" your gonna have to look around in your text mode settings.

Motokrzr K1

your phone's text entry mode is currently set to 'predictive text' which means the phone is trying to 'guess' the word that you want. Teenagers find this easy to use and fast, but I, like you, absolutely hate it.
This mode is easily changed. When you start to write a text message, before entering any text press the 'hash' key (bottom right) sequentially until the top left of your display title bar shows 'Abc2' this means your phone is now in ordinary text entry mode.
You can also change the case (capitals etc) by sequentially pressing the 0 button (bottom centre).
Hope this helps

Text messaging

push the button until you get the letter you want. For example: you want h, push 4, then push 4 again. The first push gives for g, the second one will give you g. If you want "i" push 4 again. You must pause inbetween the pushes but only for a second.
