Hello Charice, mcdevito75 here, Benrus, a quality watch, selfwinding very good addition, most likely 17 jewel, your great granfathers watch, a very definite collectable, if it's working and keeping good time it most likey has some collector value. If you would like my honest opinion you can ship the watch to me to examine. Contact me at [email protected] for details. Regards mcdevito75

I have a remington pocket watch from my great great grandfather and I don't know what battery it takes please help.

If its that old, it may not use a battery. Older watches usually use a wind up knob. Yours is on top, try winding it clockwise. You should hear some clicks if its working. good luck!

Why doesn't it keep running?

It needs to be worn to self wind. I actually bought a winding box so I put watch away it will be turned as if on your wrist. These vary and having owned a couple of winders I chose one that is belt driven, found on Amazon.
if you wear it to sleep it may wind down.
Playing video games ,little wrist motion, may find it stopped.
you mentioned someone to.d you it was fully wound! How can they tell. I cannot wind mine if yours needs winding from stem you may not have real Rollex.

Self-winding Seiko watch stops ticking.

Take it in to a watch repairer. Sounds like the self-winding spring is worn if not so then the watch repaier will find the problem. There is nothing you can do so do not attempt to fix it.

I have a Benrus 737 watch ;with no operating instructions. It was purchased from Wal-Mart as a gift approximately 10 years ago.

The Benrus watch you have is not the Benrus watch that became world famous years ago. In fact, "The Benrus Watch Company" went bankrupt in the late '70s . However, the Benrus watch that you have is made by Benrus (not the original one) and you can contact them via email: Contact Steve Laughlin [email protected] for the information you're looking for.

Melvin, I hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

My watch is not working,,is there a battery i must change?

Your watch is a self winding type and does not contain a battery.

To wind it up, swing it from side to side gently for a few minutes (this operates the self winding mechanism).

Self winding watches thrive on use and will only run for 2-3 days if not worn.

Watch winding is not holding

Two words: Wind it! When any self-winding (automatic) watch runs down from not wearing it you have to manually wind it to get it going again. Once you've done that the movement of your wrist will cause the self-winding rotor mechanism to keep it running as long as you are reasonably active and wear it everyday. Just wind it about 40 turns and you'll be good to go. Oris is a great watch company and you should enjoy it for many years.

Kenneth cole k3771, is the self-wind function working?

Self winding watched should not need to be wound as long as they are being worn.

To tell if the self winding mechanism is working, hold the watch close to your ear (hold it vertical, as though it was on your wrist) and rock it gently. You should be able to hear a ratchet operating (a soft clicking noise).

I can't help thinking your suspicion about the mechanism having failed, sound very likely.

Analog hands not moving but digital part works fine.

A Benrus advance is not a Casio PRG-60T Tough Solar Protrek watch. You posted your query in the wrong place.
