I'm not completely familiar with the JVC wireless headphones, but I'm assuming that the charging unit uses an AC adapter as it's power source. If that's the case, there's a chance that the adapter itself fried before any damage was done to the base unit itself. A simple test using a volt meter should tell you if the adapter is still working or not. That being said, the base unit may have been damaged before the adapter died, and in that case it would be like tbreeze47 said and probably not worth repairing. What I would do is bring your unit into a store that sells the same exact model with a plugged in demo model and ask if you can test yours out using their adapter (assuming that it is a current model). If you find that your unit is still working, the store may be able to order you a new adapter or you can check the JVC online store for a replacement. Best of luck.
Testimonial: "Thank you! That was a very thorough explanation. I already called up JVC and was advised that they do not sell this model in the Philippines (I got mine in Japan) and they could not service the unit. Maybe I will just bring the unit to a shop who could do the adapter-testing. If still no success, I guess I'd just have to settle with my old reliable ipod earphones. =) Thank you to both of you!"
It no doubt can be repaired, but chances are it's going to be pricey. The power input circuit will be blown for sure, and probably most everything ahead of it, since voltage came in on the ground side also (a 220V line is just 2 120 lines, and it's usually more like 228-240). You would be better off trying to get one off ebay, or on sale, than to repair this one. Sorry to relay the bad news. Of course, the headphones will still be good, that's the good news.
Testimonial: "Thank you for the quick response to my inquiry. It truly is bad news but thank you for the information, at least I know that I wouldn't have to worry looking for a service center to fix it. I just don't know how to use the headphones anymore without its main base. =("
