This is a classic pressure on the camera problem...or the camera is dopped. is possible if the camera have received a bump, near the power button...that the camera case is now tonear at the power button and the button touch into the internal eletronic comand. this is the cheaper cost problem. the other problem is is the eletronic button under the power button is faulty in this case you must change the eletronical circuit under the case button. this is a problem. why it is no easy to find this spares. very mutch model dont sell directly the spare parts to the privat buyer. you have one possibility. to find on ebay international one camera like your...that have another proble. a dropped camera with a brocken lens or with a brocken lcd...but with a good eletronical power circuit. if you find this camera with a low price. disassemble to first the buyed brocken camera..so you can see the internal and make you a ides of what you have to do to pullout the circuit.. if you see that you dont have enough knowledge, find a help from a friend the have more knowlwdge. unfortunately i am to far from you.. this is the system to fix with a cheaper price. good luck from paolo italy ..if you think that i have help you remind to release your opinion.. ok??? thank you

Turn power off and on again appears on the screen

Hi,

Turn the Power Off and On again error message is displayed when the Lens in the Camera is stuck is affected by a malfunction. Try turning off the power and on again. If the issue persists, try performing a power reset.
To power reset the Camera; turn off the Camera and remove the battery pack.
Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
Allow the Camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.
Then, reinsert the battery and check if it helps.
You may also try INITIALIZING the Camera.
To Initialize the Camera, press the On-Screen key.
Touch MENU-->SETUP-->SETUP 2-->INITIALIZE-->OK. Initializing the Camera will change all the settings back to factory reset.
If the issue persists, service may be required.

Camera says turn the power off and on

Hi,


Error: TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN is displayed on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the error message, try doing a power reset and Initialize option.

Performing a manual power reset

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.

To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the SET UP1 Menu of the Camera to OK.This will set the user defined settings back to factory default. The images and videos will not get deleted.


If the issue persists, service may be required.

The on off button is stuck in. is there anything you can do or do i just buy a new one.

Reset the camera
  1. Turn off the camera, if possible.
  2. If an SD memory card is installed, remove the card.
  3. Remove power from the camera as described below:
    • If you are using only batteries for power, open the battery/memory card door and remove both batteries.
    • If you are using only the HP AC power adapter, disconnect it from the camera.
    • If you are using both batteries and the HP AC power adapter, remove both batteries and the power adapter.
  4. Wait for 15 seconds. Then reinsert the batteries and close the battery/memory card door or reconnect the HP AC power adapter to the camera. If you are using both batteries and AC power, try each method separately.
Turn the camera on and off. If the issues is not resolved do the following

Connect the camera to the optional AC power supply
  1. Connect the camera to the optional AC power supply. Ensure that the AC power supply is connected to a working power outlet.
  2. Try turning the camera on.
  • If the issue is resolved , you do not need to continue with the rest of the instructions in this document.
If the is not resolved ,then repeat setps 1 to 4 abiove but remove the batteries and keep the AC power adapter connected.

On the Sony DSC-H7 camera can you disable the auto power off? If not does the use of an external power supply disable it? Thanks

The auto power off function that operates if the camera is not used for about 3 minutes, when operating on battery power, cannot be deactivated.

When using the camera the camera powered from the Sony AC-LS5 AC mains adapter, or with the Sony DCC-L1, DC power adapter, the camera auto power function is deactivated whilst the camera is connected to the power supply.

Please try Power Resetting the Camera.
To Power Reset the Camera, First, please turn OFF the Camera.
Then, remove the battery pack from the Camera.
Then, press and hold the POWER button on the Camera for 30 seconds.
Then, reinsert the battery pack and check whether the issue is resolved.

Hi,

Turn the power off and on again message is displayed when the Lens mechanism is stuck or when there is an internal malfunction. To resolve the issue, try turning off and on the power for few times. If the issue persists, try power resetting the Camera.
To power reset the Camera, remove the battery from the Camera. Press and hold the power button of the Camera for 30 seconds. Remain the Camera without power for 60 seconds and reinsert the battery to check the operation.
You can also try Initializing the Camera by selecting the INITIALIZE option from the SETUP1 Menu of the Camera.
If the issue persists, service may be required.

Sony cyber camera

Hi,

The Camera is displaying the Turn the power Off and On again message when the Lens in the Camera is stuck or when any internal malfunction happened.
To resolve the issue turn the power off and on several times. If the issue persists, try power resetting the Camera. To power reset the Camera, remove the battery from the Camera.
Press and hold the power button on the Camera for 30 seconds.
Remain the camera without power for 60 seconds and re-insert the battery.
Also try resetting the Camera back to factory default. Press the RESET button located at the lower right corner of the control buttons using a sharp pointed object.
If the issue persists, service may be required.

Camera will power-up only when connected to DC

This from Sony website:

To ensure the proper operation of the battery, please do as follows after charging the battery.
(1) When charging by connecting the AC adaptor directly to the camera Pleasedisconnect DC IN from the camera after charging is completed. Also, itis recommended to remove the battery from the camera when charging iscompleted as the battery is discharged slightly even if the camera isturned off.
(2) When charging with the supplied USB cradle Ifthe camera is installed in the USB cradle, please leave the power cordconnected to the outlet (when using the power strip, please leave itsswitch to on).If you want to unplug the power cord (or switch off thepower strip) after the battery has been charged using the USB cradle,please remove the camera from the USB cradle. Also, it is recommendedto remove the battery from the camera when charging is completed as thebattery is discharged slightly even if the camera is turned off.
NOTE: When you charge the battery by connecting the AC adaptor directly tothe camera or using the USB cradle, do not leave it with the power corddisconnected from the outlet.

Should it not work, continue with the manual reset procedure below:
  1. Turn off the camera.
  2. Ensure the camera is not connected to an AC power adapter.
  3. Remove the battery from the camera for 15 seconds.
  4. Reinsert the battery.
  5. Turn on the camera.
NOTE: If the issue is not resolved by performing a reset procedure, service may be required .

Camera not powering on

Hello... 1)camera is not turning on . Is the battery inserted correctly? Check the direction of the battery. Is the battery sufficiently charged? Use a battery that has been sufficiently charged. 2)camera switches off after powered on * Is the battery charge insufficient to operate the camera? Use a battery that has been sufficiently charged. * If you leave the camera on, the battery will be exhausted. Turn the camera off frequently by using power save mode or economy mode etc.
