I have an LG LFX25960SW - 3 door refrigerator. I installed the water hose connected from my faucet and 15 minutes later I got "ER IF" on my display panel. I've unplugged my refrigerator for a few hours and plugged it in again, same problem. How can I fix this problem?

ER CO is an indication of a communication error between the display board and the main board. Has this unit had a board replaced recently? If so, one of the multi pin plugs may have not gotten connected firmly, or an incorrect board may have been installed. The problem has nothing to do with the dust.

check water pressure and kinks in the hose.

It is going thru a diagnostic process, But this is only to happen when you either open the circuit board and press the test button, or use the front display keypads. I would have the circuit board checked

I'm no major appliance repairman. However, after reading several posts, I investigated the issue further since I received an ER FF on the front panel. I have a LFX25960SW refrigerator. I pulled the top and bottom baskets out, and was able to take the back panel out from inside. There was a solid block of ice built up around both fans and wires. I took a blow dryer and gradually melted the ice around the fans and wires. Then, as I was able, I pulled the remaining ice chunks off of the wires. I put the thing back together and it cleared the message. My wife says no more LG appliances for us. :)

Turns out a CF ER is a Compressor Fan problem.
Had a look and the fan was not turning, although it spins freely. Apparently it's a 3 phase 12v fan. I was able to get a resistance measurement across it but didn't know what to expect.
This also explains why it seemed a bit quieter and why the water is a bit warmer sometimes. The valve for the water dispenser is right beside the fan and it's getting pretty hot in there at the moment.

FF is your freezer fan. You may need to defrost the unit.
