The F11 code is caused by either a CCU failure or an MCU failure...here's how to tell:

If your machine starts a cycle and the water fills but the drum NEVER turns, your MCU is bad...it's most cost effective to buy a refurbished one and you can get them on eBay for $99 all day long.

If your machine makes it most of the way through a cycle but throws an F11 code during the rinse or spin, your CCU has the relay solder / vibration problem...and I can fix that for $65.

There are five down para-wise You may find some very useful:

I had same error code F11 and DL.....I sprayed the door lock (inside) with WD40......so far works OK

I had the same F11/DL problem. I tighten the two screws on the door latch and it's working great. for now

Just some part numbers to help if you need to order parts. For the GHW9200LWO Washer (Sanitary Cycle Model)- the part number for the CCU (Microcomputer or main computer) is 8181924. The part number for the Motor Control Unit (MCU) is 8182706. I did a search for the part numbers and found the CCU for $79.90 shipping included - the same part from Whirlpool was $190 plus with shipping included. I put the CCU on and my washer works perfectly again. Hope this helps someone since I had such a hard time finding out the correct part numbers. Whirlpool first sent me the MCU even though I specifically told them it was not that part but the CCU.

DL is a door lock error. This is usually an indication of a bad door latch. F11 is a serial communications error from the Central Control Unit CCU (which is your main computer). If the door latch is defective it could be generating the communications error code as well. A defective CCU can also give the same symptoms, though. Before replacing any parts, however, double check all you connections to make sure you don't have any loose wires. The least expensive of the two possible solutions would be to replace the door latch (about $50). The CCU can run between $150 and $250. Hope this leads you in the right direction.

I wanna thank all of you for your input. I had the "DL F-11" code also. My washer would run 12 minutes and then stop with the annoying beep and error codes. After learning that the "DL" was the door lock, I decided to order the part online for 50 bucks. After I placed the order I decided to take this $50 thing apart and give it a look-see. (Boys like to tear things apart!)
There is a solenoid inside that actuates the lock. My finding was that there was some hardened goo that seeped out of the solenoid. It didn't look good! I believe this to have caused an electrical imbalance that the computer didn't like, thus sending it into error mode.
Removal and installation was a snap. First I took the top off. Then to make room for my arm to get to the door-lock, I pushed the drum all the way back and held it in place by wedging a shoe in the front end. Then I pushed the drum to the side, opposite the door-lock, and wedged it with another shoe. This gave me plenty of room to reach the door-lock. Unplug the three connectors and remove the three screws from the front side of the door-lock. (Inside door at 2:00.)
Reverse order for the install!
Thanks again for your posts which led me in the right direction!

I have an F11 code on my kenmore front load washing machine

After years of suffering from random F11 that became a permanent F11, I did the repair as in the video and all is good for 2 years. No more F11. About one load a day (we have kids!)
tip

Fix your F11 FDL error forever.....

STOP the insanity....that's what you're saying if you encounter the F11 and/or fDL error codes on your washer. If you're not there yet, you will be soon....
The dreaded F11 and/or fDL codes - been there done ALL that!! Our Whirlpool DUET washer is just over 5 years. We experienced our first F11 code 6 months ago (warranty just expired what else is new?). When it first happened, I thought nothing of it - hit the cancel button and the machine reset itself. Then it happened again and again and again. Each time it happened it was more challenging to reset it. I searched for the fix on line - I should have done my research before we purchased the washer.
I was able to determine the error was stemming from the CCU board. Order a new one at over $300.00 and have the same thing happen again - I don't think so. We tried EVERYTHING suggested on multiple websites.....unplugging the washer, hitting the right upper side, checking wires, wiggling the wires, wedging things to improve contacts, soldering, re-soldering, Vaseline, changed relays....anything and everything was a temporary fix. Contact Whirlpool directly? Tried that too, they apparently don't recognize there is an issue with F11 fDL errors, "not a commonly called in concern". Really?? We started searching washers to purchase....I couldn't bare spending $$$ for another washer, but we are a busy active family with 4 kids - what are our options? Then one night after searching the websites for one last desperate attempt at salvaging our washer, I followed through on a link:

Now, I'm the biggest sceptic in the world and the most frugal consumer - really I am. I am posting my testament to this service because I've been there - frustrated, disappointed, angry. I am so pleased with the service Ed provided - from answering all my questions, to the superb job he did on the CCU. You can review all the comments posted by all his other pleased customers on eBay. I had to stand by my washer for the first 6 loads - just in case the beep beep beeps started. To my astonishment, amazement, and surprise - it never happened!! In my opinion, this is the only true fix for your F11/Fdl error!!
I never imagined in my wildest dreams ever telling anyone how happy I am to be doing my laundry again, but I really am!!

When pushing start, washer beeps 3 times but won't start

Hi,

Is the machine showing a "code" like FdL or F11 in the window where the numbers count down? The machine won't start because it thinks there's a problem. FdL and F11 are often times the codes most displayed when the machine beeps and won't start. FdL means a door lock problem and F11 means a motor or motor control board problem. If it's flashing either one of those codes the problem is most often the CCU circuit board in the machine (inside, top, back, plastic case) The CCU circuit board has what's called cold solder joints causing bad communication between the CCU and the door lock and/or the motor or motor control board. The cure for this is to remove the case with the circuit board then remove the circuit board and resolder the points on the circuit board where the spade connectors and relays (5 of them) connect to the circuit board. If you're good with soldering techniques the job is easy. If not, take the board in the case to a good appliance repair shop (along with this response) and they should be able to help you out. Good luck.

What does F11 mean?

F11 means that the circuit board at the top of the machine (CCU) is not communicating with the circuit board at the bottom of the machine (MCU). If you're getting an F11 code you may also get a FdL code (communication from the door lock to the CCU), in either case the problem is with poor quality control by whirlpool. On the CCU board there are what's called cold solder joints at the point where the relays and spade connectors connect to the circuit board. You'll need to remove the board and have those solder joints touched-up. You may break some plastic tabs removing the circuit board, that's because whirlpool used the cheapest plastic they could find. If you can't do the job yourself, take the board along with this response to a good appliance repair place. Good luck.

My washer is saying F11 what does that mean?

FdL code is the door lock code. The machine is unable to lock the door. The problem is in the circuit board located on inside top of the machine.
