Installation problem I've successfully installed this scanner on three computers. Now I can't install the drivers on a new Dell Vostro computer. When I attempt to set up the drivers, both the one on the disk and the internet version, the setup program does nothing, no screens, no nothing. Same thing happens when I try to install the job tool. The scan creation software loads normally, but can't see the scanner when run (because the drivers never loaded properly). Any suggestions?

Your post is in PC Desktops, it's a Laptop? It's a Dell Vostro 3400? Is the old HDD working? If you install a new primary HDD you will need a Factory System disk to re-install to factory specs OR a Windows Installation Disk. Contact Dell Support with your Make, Model, Serial Number of Computer, if the Factory Recovery Disk is available. Dell Support: http://www.dell.com/us/business/p/vostro-3400/pd You may can use a online service? If your old drive works you can "clone" it to the new HDD, using a software program.

You didn't told us, what is the most recent updates you've done, i.e.: installing driver or software, or something like this.

Choose 'Last Known Good Configuration', if not worked, choose 'safe mode'

1.First download the scanner driver- ->Plustek OpticPro U12B driver(Windows XP ver.)_ 2.Save it somewhere where you will remember after download . We recommend that you save it on your desktop , so it will be easy to find ..
3.Double- click the file you downloaded .
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
5.When it's successfully installed , please restart your computer
6.After you have restarted the computer , plug the scanner into your computer and it will automatically recognize the new hardware.

I bought new laptop Dell Vostro 1015, and met few problems. First was with wireless and second one with audio. I was searching for solutions over the internet, and found wireless drivers. I also realize how to install audio.

Here is my solution regarding AUDIO:
- Try to obey all instructions and sequence that is described in "Download section".
- If you still have problems you need to:

- Install the driver, and reboot.
- Install drivers from Dell web page.

1) Install the bluetooth driver provided for your system. It will ask you to activate bluetooth by pressing fn+f2 key (this won’t work).
2) You manually have to install the software for the driver.
Note: some of you may have already installed the drivers but just cannot start the connection. So there is a problem in the software and not the driver.
For installation of the software follow these steps.
3) Go to your driver installation directory (ex. C:\dell\drivers) then you find which driver you installed for your bluetooth.
4) Then you find your system you are running (a 32 bit or a 64 bit) it will written as win32 or win64.
5) Then you find the installation file. Then install the application and it will be all ready once again.
P.s. don’t forget to turn your Bluetooth adapter on after you install the software.

Once any OS is installed over old one or clean install is done one of the drivers that has to be usually reinstalled is sound drivers. You will have to go to dell.com and choose support and downloads and find ur system and install the new vista driver. This should fix it. Good luck.

turn on the bluetooth using the wireless switch located on the left part of the computer. make sure it is on the 1 position not on 0

Add a pci parallel card such as this to your vostro. www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=512
This will enable you to connect your scanner. Tiger direct will give you closeups of the connections on the interface card so you can check you have the right one.
