Power Outage Problems Sony Bravia 32" LCD TV

I have a Sony Bravia 32" LCD TV and it is used in my bedroom. It worked perfectly 2 nights ago, and now it does not. Yesterday there was a power outage at my apartment complex and afterward it was not working. It is plugged into a surge protector, however I fear that it is damaged internally. Currently, when plugged into power, the red light illuminates, but will not respond otherwise. The TV set will not turn on either by remote, or from the button on the side.

Try cycling the power (unplug 2 minutes) and plug in and wait 30 seconds and turn back on. if this doesn't work, could have been a surge, your protector should have saved it, but could have been through cable or something. surge protectors will guarantee no damage for several years, check with the manufacturer maybe they'll cover the repair.

Tv guide doesn't work anymore

I have a Sony model KDL-32BXR6 that the TV Guide first showed no listings this past weekend. Last night when I entered the Guide the screen displaying the Setup/Display Setup Progress came up stating "In Progress". Same thing this morning. Something must have changes with the input signal if this occurred with two different sets.

A security camera on top of our home was struck by lightening. The current ran through the camera cable to the power supply, into a surge protector (worthless), then throughout our home. It affected...

The surge likely came in thru the video input to the TV from the camera. In which case the Main board should be replaced. I have repaired numerous TVs with just Main boards only and not power supplies. This is not always the case but if the input device is fried and it is connected to the TVs Main Board, which has all the video and audio inputs, then that's the bad board. I personally have a nice 46" Sony LCD hanging in my master bedroom which this happened to. I spent $90 on a main board and ended up with a nice $1800 TV in my bedroom. Sweet Action !

There was a power outage and when the power came back on, my t.v. no longer worked. When I try to turn it on, the red timer/pic off light is flashing intermittently. It is a 32" Bravia.

I bet you $120.00 you did not have a 1000VA UPS on it. If I was right, you can pay me now, and I can send you one.

You need a new TV.....or it will cost you $150.00 to fix.

The thinner they are the faster they blow...by the way they have a computer in there.
