This is my 3rd year using intex 8110 sytem. I hooked everything up, added salt to water/ran pump for 24hrs, then attempted to turn 8110 on and it would not come on. After 5-10 min, it came on with code 88 and as i tried to ste the clock to chlorinate, shut itself back off. Now wont even turn on. Power source is fine. What is up??

That code means the unit is in standby. It should start working if you set the opperational hours that you want in the program. Use the program guide in the manual.

Do I hook up just the pool filter for 24 hours and then hook the intex salt walter filter onto the pump?

When you are opening the pool each year or for the 1st time, you hook up the filter pump and than the Salt System before you start filtering the salt... Eventhough you filter the freshly added Salt into the pool for the 1st 24hrs, it can run through the salt system, just don't turn it on like you mentioned... The trick is once you start running the salt system is to get the chlorine levels up as quick as you can... I have not mastered this yet after 3 years but I will consult my Local Pool Chemical Supplier next year before opening the pool... So I think you should do the same...

Good Luck...

I am at the end of my rope- i keep getting the code 90 on the salt water system. i have put the flow sensor in vinigar for 4 hours, got all the air out of the hose. i have 16 x 48 pool with the 635T pumb...

Seems like you tried everything, we as consumers can do.. May have a bad flow sensor and need to contact Intex.. WITH A RECEIPT!!! If you do not have one...Wal-Mart online has the new 8110 version model on sale for $149.00 with a free $50.00 on line gift card that you can later use on line to purchase a regular $50.00 gift card that will be mailed to you.. I just bought one for a spare and plan to use during my cleaning cycles... Good luck...

My water was crystal clear when delivered. I added the salt, ran the filter pump for 24 hrs as instructed. Turned on my Intex saltwater pump and within an hour water is green. Cannot find anything on...

I am not impressed at all with these salt water chlorinators.Shock the water and keep the filter running next day add a powdered chlorine.filter still running. check the balance with test strip in about four hours. If chlorine level is good start vacuming the algee off the bottom of the pool. Now throw away the salt generator and stay with the chlorine packs every week to two weeks continue to monitor with test strips

Intex salt water chlorinator not producting chlorine

You can test if the 8110 is generating any chlorine by taking a water sample directly at the pool return. You can invert your container so it stays filled with air until you have it positioned in front of your return. Make sure your test chemicals are not expired and test the sample. You should get a high reading if the 8110 is producing any chlorine. If it is producing chlorine, you may want to make sure you have the correct level of Cyanuric Acid. In my pool, if the Cyanuric Acid level is low, the chlorine level drops to zero quite quickly.

If the sample indicated your 8110 is not producing any chlorine, I would check to see if you have approx. 24V DC between B+ and Gnd on the screw terminal strip on the main circuit board. The transformer supplies two voltages to the 8110. One voltage powers the electronics and the other powers the electrolytic circuit. So it is possible for part of the unit to work if one voltage has failed.

No LED

In the manual it states that depending on what type of salt you use, you may have a yellowish tint to the water. What kind of water are you using for the pool? If it's well water you may even more of a discoloration to the water. I'd call Intex directly and see about getting the unit fixed, even if you didn't buy it direct from them they should still be able to help you. Good luck!
