The bobbin case keeps sliding and popping out in the middle of sewing something. I'm having to unscrew the bobbin cover plate and put it back in on an average of four times each time I sew.

This is a real bummer! check to be sure you have inserted the bobbin case fully and correctly. Make sure there is no lint hiding behind the bobbin case.

Singer 2263 instruction manual does not show where to lubricate or how to adjust the hook which keep jamming

First make sure that the needle is fully up. Then you need to open the hinged front cover and unscrew the needle plate screws. Remove the bobbin. Brush out any lint now. Remove the bobbin case. Then snap the hook retaining arms outwards. Remove the hook cover and hook. Put no more than 2 drops of sewing machine oil on the the case (center right hand side). Then turn the hand wheel until the hook race is in the left position. Replace the hook and then the hook cover. Snap the hook retaining arms back into position. Replace the bobbin case and bobbin. Then replace the stitch plate.

Test the machine on a piece of waste fabric. If the hook keeps jamming, take the machine in for maintenance. The parts that may need to be replaced are the race or the shuttle hook. However without seeing the unit I do not know if there is not another problem. Some parts for the 2263 are available here: http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/singer-2263-sewing-machine-parts.aspx .

Singer has a second manual available with the oiling instructions for the 2263 here: http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/1213_oiling-2263.pdf . See the diagrams on this page for where things line up. The rest of the instruction manual is also online here: http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/1180_2263%28eng_spa_fre%29.pdf .

I hope this helps.

METAL PLATE COVERING BOBBIN WON'T STAY DOWN

Take it apart again and compare the original screw with the one you substituted. If they are not the same size, you will need to get one that matches the original.

Re-place the needle plate and when firmly in place, put the screws back in.

The bobbin case on my Singer Inspiration 4210 sewing machine keeps popping up in the back causing my thread to bunch up underneath. I cleaned the bobbin case, but now it won't sew at all; the case keeps...

unscrew the black plate that holds in the bobbin case and move it over to the left just a little bit, but make sure there is still clearance between the lower right corner of the case and the plate. The case should be able to wiggle a little, but not so loose it can pop out..

The bobbin case on my Singer Inspiration 4210 sewing machine keeps popping up in the back causing my thread to bunch up underneath. What is causing this? Is the bobbin case in wrong? How is it supposed...

From what I gather on other sites, your thread has to be threaded under tension.... You have to make sure you hear a click when your bringing your thread down to the bottom of the "arm". Also, I thought the bobbin case was rather loosely held in its place, I adjusted this by unscrewing the black plate and moving it over just a smidge. The bobbin is supposed to have some wiggle room, but it kept popping up and making the tiny adjustment seems to have done the trick....for now...
