Connection i have 98 toyota camry and i'm trying to connect my mtx 251d thunder and still no light i check my connection is ok , if i do jumper it with the antenna and main power the light is on, i,m getting frustrated
My guess is a short in your 12 volt remote turn on wire or you have it wired incorrectly behind the dash. If you're sure you have a good ground and a solid battery wire the only other issue can be your remote wire. Your remote wire is what kicks the amp on and illuminates the power light.

Make sure you have a proper ground wire connection. The ground wire should be connected solidly to the vehicle chassis in a paint-free location. If it is loose or there is paint t the connection site, you will have problems with the amp output. Also check the speaker wires to see if they are touching the vehicle chassis. This will cause a short circuit and you will not have output from the amp. Finally, check the leads from the head unit. They should be RCA cables, and should have a good connection to the amp.
turn down music open sub box and put another speaker at wire and check again if work means sub is ok if not check the signal cable, and put there the speaker to try signal
To wire up a 2 ohm load depends on the subs. You will either need 1 sub rated at 2 ohms or 2 subs at 4 ohms wired in parallel. This website will help. http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=41#results You can also use 1 dual voice coil sub rated at 4 ohms wiring the same way you would the 2subs at 4 ohms. Good Luck
WELL, THE BAD NEWS IS THAT IT WILL DEFINITELY NEED TO BE SERVICED, BUT WHEN REINSTALLING IT, MAKE SURE TO HAVE THE SPEAKER CHECKED TO INSURE THAT IT IS NOT FAULT Y, AS IT COULD HAVE A BAD VOICECOIL WHICH CAN PRESENT A SHORT TO THE OUTPUTS OF THE AMPLIFIER RESULTING IN PREMATURE FAILURE. IF IT IS FINE, THEN REINSTALL THE AMPLIFIER AND YOU SHOULD BE OK FROM THERE. ALWAYS KEEP IN MIND THAT ALL POWER CONNECTIONS, ESPECIALLY THE GROUND, SHOULD ALWAYS BE CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE 100%. HOPE THIS HELPS AND LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED FURTHER ASSISTANCE....V
MTX has the hookup diagram here: http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/manualsQuickInstall/amps/RTP251D_InstallSheet.pdf
If you have the original wiring harness, the ground wire is normally black. The amplifier case or chassis is ground connnected on amps I've seen as well.
