I suspect that your hard drive is faulty. If you formatted your drive, due to getting errors, this could be your problem in the first place.

I´d suggest running the hardware diagnostics (usually F2 or F12 upon boot) to see if that info is confirmed).

Run a Disc Defragmentation: found under the start menu, accessories, system tools.

After this, under the same menu list, run a "disc cleanup".

Yes, your analysis of the problem is correct. The problem could be with the hardware & while you are trying to reinstall the Windows OS, the software checks on all hardwares before installing. The best solution would be to take your system to a nearest service provider & get the problem rectified. Once the problem is rectified by them, try to reinstall the OS along with them, so that if there is any other problem apart from the above they will be able to help you.

must be virus' job. insert ur operating system cd/dvd in the cd/dvd rom and restart ur pc. press a key to boot from cd when asked. then repair os using recovery console. if the problem still persist then re install windows

Unfortunately the mot common reason for 'operating system not found' is a failed or corrupted hard drive. You need to go into your BIOS menu and see if your hard drive is recognized by the computer. When booting up push F1 and enter the BIOS menu. Go to the menu item for boot up or start up and see if your hard drive is recognized. If your hard drive is recognised then it may be salvageable by booting from a recovery disk or reinstalling windows from a CD. You have lost your operating system and/ or you hard drive went bad. Try reformatting your hard drive and them reinstalling your operating system. If it reinstalls, try booting up your computer. Turn it off afterwards, wait a bit, then try booting it up again. If it still boots up, then you are good to go. But if it doesn't boot up, or it doesn't boot up after you restart your computer, then your hard drive is bad, and it needs to be replaced. Hope this helps.

This will be either an operating system glitch of a failed hard drive. Start by doing a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. If the repair doesn't take, then reformat the hard drive and install a new operating system. If the hard drive will not format, or you have any issues during or after the install, then the hard drive has failed and will need replaced.

You can repair that by booting your system using the CD ROM and the select to repair windows.

If ever this will not solve then;
You should backup your files and reinstall the windows operating system.

In installing operating system you need the following:
1 windows bootable disc/ Operating System REcovery Disc
2.Cd /DVD rom


Boot your system any of this CD/DVD disc and then follow the on screen instruction.

After installation, don,t forget to install the drivers of your system that was enlosed in your system.
