Wd-73737 wont turn on blinking green light

First is if you are able to get it to turn on and blue screen only appears it will shut down as no signal noted.

If you can get it on with Mitsubishi remote : Menu, 1,2,3 enter

This is the soft reset and the set also has a hard reset.

Try the soft reset first and let me know what happens.

1 have a 6 year-old Mitsubishi model WS-48511 series 1080 rear projection TV that now won't turn on. A few days ago we shut the TV off, and now when i plug it in the blinking green power light...

This is called the blinking green light of death-----only one of two things can cause this problem.

First: remove front speaker grill (IT PULLS OFF) AND remove inspection plate behind it; look for the two bundles of wires coming down and to the right from the front keyboard of the set.

Unplug both plugs you find (different and marked so you cannot mix them up-----the idea is to take the front keyboard out of circuit-----set will still function with remote as receiver is behind front screen)

Try (after 70 seconds) to turn on with remote

If it comes on---defective reset button on front keyboard----use set only with remote or remove and remove actual reset switch---it is located behind and part of frame for screen----entire front screen would have to be removed to get at it.

Second: if disconnection of the front keyboard does not help, the DM unit is bad.

As you look from back of set it is large metal box at extreme left side.

The blinking light is the unit trying to "Boot" up-----these have a problem where caps and a few other parts in that unit fail-----kits on the net are available----Mitsubishi no longer sells or services these units but PTS Electronics does repair them.

Let me know if you have questions and try disconnection of the front keyboard FIRST.

My KP-51HW40 clicks off after running for a period. The red power light blinks when it goes off but screen stays dark. When TV is shut off for a while it restarts and runs fine. The "On"...

Hi,
KP-51HW40 shuts off due to incorrect white balance and blue arch lines is an evidence of that incorrect white balance. I hope tv standby red light would flashing 5 times then 3 seconds pause and again 5 times when tv shuts down.
This is rear projection tv that has three picture tubes (red-green-blue) inside to generate picture that projected at front screen. These three picture tubes must be drive with correct drive voltage to produce good picture of each color.
Solution for your tv problem is Screen Voltage adjustment that can be done easily if you are handy with electronics stuff repair.
Let me know your expertise level to guide you more and if you feel unconformable by tv repair then local tv repairman will help you to adjust white balance in tv.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
Thanks.

Tv turns on. A blue screen appears. Then it shuts down in 20 seconds. The timer light blinks repetedly.

Try this:
1) turn on TV
2) from the remote control ..press MENU 2,4,7,0 then ENTER
3) tv will state on screen that it is INITIALIZING.
4) press the RESET BUTTON on front of TV.
5) should be good to go!

The power comes on and then turns off and the front green power light blinks.

There is a small IC in the power supply section,
not the IC regulator that's the problem.

My Sony KP-46WT500 screen shows the tv image in blue only for a few seconds, then it goes completely blank (as if it were off). Do I need to replace the bulbs?

It is rear projection TV that use 3 picture tubes of red-green-blue to show color picture on tv front screen.
Do you see standby red light blinking when TV shuts off after showing blue image for a while?
If red standby light is blinking, please count it how many times it blinks, there would be 3 seconds pause between blinks so count pause to pause and post it here to find out possible solution.
Thanks.

My picture is green the it shuts off with light blinking in front

that's very hard to fix, you need to monitor every test voltage pin if is in normal. try also replace crystal capacitor thats one monitor with the jungle IC.
