Sidekick SLIDE Unlocking Instructions

Warning : Do not enter any wrong unlock codes on your Sidekick SLIDE mobile phones. If you enter over a certain amount of wrong unlock codes on your Sidekick SLIDE mobile phone, your phone may get hard locked and sometimes become unusable.
1. Switch ON your Sidekick SLIDE with a Not ACCEPTED SIM Card.
2. If your Sidekick SLIDE asks for a PIN code, then enter your SIM card PIN and press OK.
3. Sidekick SLIDE will ask to enter an "unlock code".
4. Enter Unlock Code we send to you.
5. Your Sidekick SLIDE is now unlocked.

*NOT ACCEPTED : We mean, to use a Sim card from a network other than the network your Sidekick SLIDE is locked to.

Sorry to tell you this, but unless you have the t-mobile sidekick data plan the internet, chat and email will not work. It is hard coded to use the Danger Servers for these services.

The Sidekick 3 is quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) - so it should work fine in most places in the ME - Kuwait uses 900/1800MHz GSM, so it will certainly work there. It doesn't support any kind of 3G, though.

The only thing you need to watch for is that every sidekick I have ever seen was locked to T-Mobile, so if you want to use a local SIM card in it, you will need to get it unlocked. You will also need to get the network settings correct for your local operator, since a sidekick with no data connection is not very useful.

I don't believe there is a way to unlock your phone. Most cell phones are made specifically for a certain network, in this case being T-Mobile. The only way to get a Sidekick to work on another network is to buy a Sidekick is to buy one from the other company.

No it wont work but you could have it as your phone book.

Contact Nokia tech support and they can help you with the unlock procedure since they can get you the codes you need to unlock it.

T-Mobile Sidekick devices from the United States are SIM "subsidy locked" to the T-Mobile US network. T-Mobile does not provide unlock codes for the Sidekick since it is a device built specifically for their network (similar to the way AT&T won't unlock iPhones.) I'm sorry, but you're out of luck.

Its impossible to use the T-Mobile sidekick on any other network as it is designed only for use on the t-mobile network it cannot even be used on T-Mobile in a different country e.g. T-Mobile US sidekick cannot be used on T-Mobile UK , Even if somehow you managed to unlock the device then you still couldnt take it away from the network as it requires special features on the network to be used and those are only available on T-Mobile . So really if you want a sidekick you can only have it on T-Mobile.
