This problem is going to be the ice maker itself. The arm you are talking about is the shut-off mechanism for the ice machine. Just before the ice machine starts to make ice, the arm slowly rises. Then the arm falls down, if there is ice blocking the arm from falling all the way down it will not make ice because there is plenty! If the arm is able to fall down completely, the ice machine will make ice like normal. If your ice maker is making ice regardless of the arms position, something is wrong with the ice maker. Depending on who replaces this, it could cost anywhere from $100 to $200.

Frigidaire FRS6LR5E ice maker won't stop making ice

Ice maker wire signal arm is being held down by some item in the freezer. Move item and release wire signal arm. Any ice cubes that are frozen together over the wire signal arm. the ice rises in the ice bucket and pushes the wire signal arm up and this is what stops ice production as ice is used then arm comes down and starts ice production all over again. if there is nothing holding arm down then you will need to replace ice maker.

Model b198 makes one batch then stops

Check the bin arm spring you will have to disassemble the front of the ice maker to do this and check timer motor could be getting hung up. not a cleaning problem. or replace the complete head.

My ice make bin is full but it's not dispensing ice cubes.

their is a wire like arm that is on the side of the maker this tells the maker to stop making ice till the ice goes down you will need to remove some if the ice and then reach in and pull the wire arm down not hart you will feel it click and stop and is a couple mins it will start making ice again if this is not the case the ice unit could be frozen in place and you will need to thaw it out then see if it works if it still does not then it will need to be serviced hope this helps

Ice maker will not stop, even when the tray is full of cubes.. will only stop if arm is put up..

The ice tray arm is mechanical. It is pushed up by the ice cubes. Try bending the arm down so it makes contact with the ice cubes sooner and gets pushed up sooner when it reaches up posistion it should stop.

The ice maker suddenly stopped making ice. The "arm" is down. Should it be up?

arm down ...Pour about 1/2 cup of water into ice maker . If it dumps , replace the water valve . If doesn't dump , replace the ice maker . Also make sure the coils are clean of dust , lint , etc...

The ice marker does not make ice. Have looked

If theres water in the line going to the fridge and the ice maker works , most of the times the water valve ( solenoid) that opens when the ice maker needs water , is leaking or doesn't work.
