SOURCE: Cell phone keypad will not work
you will need to take this to a professional but the problem is either a disconnected cable or somehow the firmware for the keypad got damaged and needs to be put back on the phone.

You will have to call the carrier and ask them for the PUK or PUC. This is the password unlock code. They will know exactly what you need. This will allow you to override the password and reset it. Some phones have 2 password codes. If you unlock it and some features still are inaccessible, then you may need the PUK2 code also.

I dropped my v3i into my cats bowl and had it up and out of it within a second.. the thing is this .. notice the grid that we talk into it's poor design is open to liquids.. the worse part about this phone however isn't the poorly designed grid.. it's that these phones and water are pure enemies. water kills razr's. I know this from reading many forum posts. I sent mine off to a guy I found through ebay his ebay name is eminence.. he's a really nice guy.. great w/razrs.
SOURCE: motorola razr v3 keypad problem!!
ok so this may sound really weird, but i massaged me keypad gently with my thumbs for a few minutes at a time and my whole keypad came back. I was texting with a wet hand and my whole keypad went wonky on me then i freaked out and came to this site. well i read a few of the soulution suggestions and mixed them. I turned off my phone and pressed the buttons one by one. Then i turned on my phone and pressed the only that would work so that the pone would get hot. Then i gently blew into the side of the phone in the crack that is the two halves of the phone and then i gently took both thumbs and massaged the keypad from zero to arrows. Soon i got my 6 to work then my 0 then all my numbers and my whole keypad came back to life quickly. I hope this works for someone else.

I had the same problem--it turned out that there was a tear in the underside of the keypad. The keypad was replaced. It cost $35, but the phone works fine now!
