We had a similar problem with water coming out of the soap dispenser when the washer was run. I assumed that it was a problem with the water draining as everyone else posted here. I took off the front panel, got rid of the junk and drained it. Although this was great, it did not solve the original problem. It turns out that there was a sock stuck in between where the water comes out of the soap dispenser and in to the main compartment. Pulled it out with a needle nose plier and good to go. Thanks to everyone for their input here.

This appears to be a common problem based upon the number of hits I see on all the repair sites. None of the other answers helped me - this one did a little. If water is coming out the detergent drawer, the tube to the drum is blocked (like mine was) not a loose hose elsewhere. If you're luckier than I was, you won't need to take anything apart hardly. Take out the drawer (there is a black release on the back left). The drain tube to the drum is in front and down toward you so you can't see in. If you can feel something - you're in luck, take it out and you should be good to go. How in the heck anything gets in there is beyond me - it must come up from the drum.
I wasn't so lucky. My blockage - a sock now chewed up - was all the way at the bottom of the tube near the drum. You have to take off the whole front to get at it. Take the bottom off with 3 screws below. Take the top off with 3 screws in back. Take the control panel off with one hex screw on left and snaps off. Take the front / door assembly off with two screws on top - it doesn't totally come free nor does it need to. You have just enough room to get a hand in (carefully) and either from the top loosed squeeze clamp and reach down, or simply pull out bottom (it comes out rather simply by squeezing tube and bending in fringes). Remove object and good luck getting it all back together!

Wanted to say thank you to mrjharman for taking the time to post your fix because this is exactly the issue we had. How it came to be... during the final high speed spin cycle of the wash load prior to the water leaking through the dispenser, the machine starting making a very loud unnatural flapping noise. It sounded like a belt had fallen off and was flapping uncontrollably. Wanting to reproduce the problem I put in a small load. Right off the bat the water started coming out of the dispenser. This was the 1st time this happened so I looked up the dispenser leaking issue, came across this post, then followed the directions to take off the bottom, top, control panel and front of the washer. Pulled out the black dispenser tube and out comes an adult sock. How that sock got there I have no idea. I suspect the sock stuck in the tube was causing the odd flapping sound. While I was at it I opened the catch drain at the bottom of the washer (be prepared to collect the excess water) and removed a handful of corroded change, some screws, and a couple Legos. This was an easy fix compared to what I had envisioned the problem being and certainly saved me the cost of a service call.

Thanks Hartman. I thought the fix was going to be a HUGE headache or at the very least a ding to my wallet... and thanks to your step by step instructional is was NEITHER! Awesome.

You are the man!! My wife called me at work to let me know that water was running out of the front of the washer. Thought for sure I was looking at a big repair repair bill. But, alas, I found your post here and it took me less than 45 minutes to find and remove that twisted sock. And I, too, am wondering how the heck it got in there in the first place!
P.S. You should post an email address for a PayPal account. I'd donate a few $$ cause you certainly saved me more than a few $$!

Thank you thank you thank you! Although I did find that I didn't need to take off any panels except for the top panel, with the screws at the back of the machine. At first I took it all off as you said and sure enough found a sock, but then when I put it all back together it was actually leaking from where the clogged hose entered the drum. So I took it back apart, this time taking only the top off, and was able to reach the hose again that way and managed to reattach it without it leaking the second time. Just as a note, if you already have the bottom front panel off, you might as well take out the drain plug and clear any clogs while you are at it. The first time mine clogged to the point where the drum wouldn't drain I found over 60 coins in there (sadly, mostly pennies) so while I had it off this time I cleared it out, lucky me, this time about 8 bucks worth!

Water leaks out of the soap dispenser of my kenmore elite front loader and all the soap or bleach us not out

The 1st thing to try is to take out the dispenser ,there is a little piece that you will push down and then pull the entire assembly out, rinse it out with hot water ,most likely there is a build up in the dispenser, there after use only powder detergent, and no more then 1 tbs ,and any other stuff IE bleach ,fabric softener, use 1/2 the amount and dilute it with water.

My Kenmore HE2 Pluse Front Load Washer is leaking water out of the Detergant compartment like it is overflowing.

sounds like the hose from the soap dispenser to the tub is blocked. might need the repairman for this one. anything you might try sticking in there to clean or clear it may damage it. also watch what kind of detergent and amount you are using. can cause problems.

We have a Kenmore frontloader pooring water from soap dispenser

You could have a clog in the housing underneath the dispenser where the water flows through a hose into the tub.
Pull the dispenser drawer completely out.
There is a tab that needs to be depressed to release the drawer and remove it.
Check the opening at the bottom of the housing just inside the dispenser housing opening to see if a small sock or garment is clogging this opening.
Reach down into this opening to see if an item is inside the hose.
This is the normal issue that will cause water to leak out of the dispenser housing.

Wash the dispenser drawer thoroughly with warm water. Make sure that you pull off the siphon covers and wash all siphon holes. This process is described in your owner's manual. Replace the dispenser drawer and try the washer again.

Kenmore Elite HE3t Front Load Washer leak from dispenser

I was just about to call the service teck when I decided I shouldn't be this stupid and try and fix it myself.

I took the tray out and looked in with a flashlight.
Saw nothing.
Cleaned the tray and then checked the drainage hole inside the opening where the tray normally feeds the machine the soap.

I found a inside of the liquid XXXKing laundry cap partially blocking the drain.

Took it out and works fine.

He2 front loading washing machine leak at the soap dispenser regi

Hi dlypooh, thought I would post the solution here as well for anybody who needs to do a search in the future...

Remove the dispenser, pour water into the opening and make sure water can get into the machine freely. Inspect the opening for soap build up.
If water goes down slowly (re: dlypooh), open the washer door and feel around the bellow for anything blocking the water inlet port into the washer (socks can sometimes get wedged up there and cause a blockage).
If it all checks out ok, make sure the machine is properly leveled and not leaning forward.
Hope that helps!
