For both of you. Update Vista through windows update service. Even if this is a new printer the software CD may already be out dated. Go to Lekmark (After updating Vista), & download & install the latest software drivers for Vista. If Vista still fail to see the printer call Lexmark. (Number in manual). Or click on this next link for help.

Just click the link provided below. It will take you directly to the driver for Vista users. Click the file named cjrX1100EN.exe A window will open and you can install the software right from there.

Attention Windows Vista Users
If you have installed your printer on your PC using an original Lexmark Driver CD that came with your product and you are experiencing problems when printing, you may have installed the Windows XP driver.

Follow these steps to resolve:
· Disconnect your USB cable from your printer.
· Uninstall all Lexmark printer drivers on your PC.
· Download the correct Vista driver for your model.
· Install the driver on your PC.

Important - Do not reconnect the USB cable until the install software prompts the question of how the printer is connected.

If you are downloading the vista drivers, why are you loading the cd?

Just double click the driver download to install.

If you are wanting to install additional printer software that came on the driver cd, you can most likely download the software updates at the same place you downloaded the drivers.
