so I spilled a small splash of wine (10 days ago) on the button panel and over a period of 12 hours the functionality denigrated and eventually stopped working altogether.
since then the display and some functionality has returned but the volume doesn't work and the sound quality is very tinny.
can I expect full functionality to return?
it's an early model bought in 1996 or 97.thanks for the reply.

I am not sure how to fix your radio; but my wave radio wasn't working and I took it into a Bose store and got an excellent trade in for a new one. I traded a wave radio without a CD player for a new Wave radio with a CD player. I would take your radio into the nearest Bose store.
Sorry to hear about your original remote; we would be happy to help you with addressing your DISH remote to your Bose Wave Radio. Here is a list of some of the codes that we havefor Bose Wave Radio: 761, 664, 656, and 639.
Press and hold the AUX mode button until all mode buttons at the top of theremote come on, then release. Enter the number 2 then one of the codes for your Bose Wave Radio provided above. Press the pound (#) button, the mode light should flashthree times. Check that the code works by trying several different functions onthe remote to make sure it will properly operate your Bose Wave Radio. Keep in mindthat some codes may not be compatible with your equipment. If this is the case, please try the other codes listed for that device until you find one that iscompatible with your equipment.
We hope this helps you, and thank you for being a valued DISH Network Customer!

Unfortunately
Bose will not release their schematics or parts lists, effectively
giving them a monpoly on repair of these units. Their web site,
www.bose.com, offers to repair most Wave radios for $100 or to provide
a $200 allowance towards purchase of a new Wave. Before you spend the
big bucks on theis trouble-prone product though, you might want to
check out the new HD radios -- better sound and MUCH lower prices than
Bose.
