Hello,it would depend on the brand of appliance, its model number and how it was designed. In many cases the door may have to disassembled to access screws or nuts holding the handle ends.If the end caps which the screws or nut fasten to are stripped, the handle may need to be replaced.
Thanks

Loose oven door handle

I had the same problem. We took the door off completely & turned it upside down. There are screws on the bottom of the door, take them out, take off bottom trim piece that holds the outside glass panel in place, remove glass panel and you can access the door handle screws and clean the inside of the glass while you are at it.

Loose Oven door handle

Hi,
You may have to get some loctite brand paste in a tube for applying to the threads of the bolts that hold it on.
This will prevent the screws from loosening.
Another way would be to get some spring washers or star washers at your local hardware store such as menards.
