Hello,i have been reading your problem....This is simply because you have too many anti-virus programs running all at once.... I reccomend you remove the other 2 anti-virus software....
well what I would suggest you is to go to control panel and then add/remove program and remove spy sweeper and restart the computer Then reinstall spy sweeper and run the complete scan
Or
visit http://www.google-pack.co.cc click "get essential softwares ..." you get Free! Norton Security San and Spyware Doctor
then check the softwares you need; next is download after that on the next screen click help google.... and start download; then Run and after the downl id done run once again and let it install
This will remove all the spywares from the system and speed up your system
I am getting the same problem that others have stated, I get message that I have 4 critical shields off and will not allow me to turn them on, I CANNOT SWEEP OR OPEN THE ALERTS.
this sounds like spyware in the registery download any spyware removal tool and run this offline then run your antivirus program and see if this gets rid of the problem if this still exists then save all files and emails out and re-install operating system.
I have seen this problem a couple times. The only fix that seems to work is uninstalling Spysweeper and then reinstall it again. If you go to start>Programs>webroot you will see an uninstaller. Run that, reboot the computer, then reinstall again from your install disc.
put more ram in the laptop is the most economical solution at the moment, as it is so cheap.
your laptop can have 2 gig in total
other solutions that cost nothing
remove all unwanted software off the hard drive.( to make room for virtual memory)
empty recycle bin
run anti spy-ware software
defrag the hard drive
set virtual memory to 2 times physical ram
set performance settings to "adjust for best performance",go to device manager/advanced tab to do this
go to start/run ,type "msconfig" go to start up tab and deselect any software not needed at boot up,
leave anti virus, anti spy ware, and any firewall selected.
when you reboot a box will open saying you have been in making changes ,put a tick in the box at top right so it does not show again.
hope this helps you
please rate my efforts if worthy
good luck
Terry
